A/N: For some reason the last part of Chapter 21 wouldn't show. So here is it.
++++++Ray's POV++++++
~1 hour later~
The gifted ones has been gathered and Ray was in the midst of them. "I gathered you all here tonight to ask you of a very important favor. You don't have to do so but...I need you help." There was a heavy silence. "As you all know, Remus is a...hard character and you don't like him but I need you help anyways. I am not going to force you because this fight will be the last and chances are one of us is going to die. I beg you to help me help him fight Marcus." I'm not good at speeches and I don't know if my words are getting through to them but I hope to the goddess they hear me out.
"Lloyd and I have already decided to help him." Leo stood up and stood beside me. "As far as I am concerned, I'm only helping Ray because I personally want to beat Remus myself. It wouldn' be fair to anyone of us if another guy walks in and takes that satisfaction away. It will be hard as he says. But we are willing to take that chance. You obviously don't have to help us. But if you are willing then we will be grateful." I watched Leo. He certainly has what is takes to be a leader.
"Why should we help a traitor?" Chad spoke up. "You're not." Answered Leo. "Our main priority is to defeat or kill this Marcus guy. Remus was only a small part of his plan. If Remus's destruction was already this great, then what is his calamity? What does Marucs have in plan for us? Either way, we are bound to help him."
"That's not really fair, now is it?" Conall talked. "In the end, we will have to fight Marcus. I don't agree nor am I fond of the thought of helping Remus, but if what you say is true, then we have no choice but to help. Our main goal was to only get rid of them from our land. We have already done that. But now we have recieved powers from the Goddess. Why? I'm only guessing she wants us to fight this chaos once and for all."
Hearing them and seeing them in the bonfire light, they seem like adults. This kids have already grown so much. I noticed Nico and I walked up to him. The guys talked and argued. "Dad..." He whispered. "Why are you doing so much for him?" I didn't want to lie so I told him the truth. He is entitled to it. "I love him, Nico. And I love you very much also. But I have a responsibility towards him. The Goddess has talked to me and she said he and I were supposed to be mates. But if I weren't mated with you mother, you wouldn't have been born and Remus would have not strayed and still be the good man I know. But if you weren't born...I don't know what I'll do with myself. You're very important to me. And I know we don't say I love you a lot but I really do."
"I'm sorry for being an irresponsible dad." There were tears in his eyes. I brought him to my arms and embraced him warmly. "But I won't deny that I did love Clare, your mother."
"I'll help." Nico sounded. But it didn't click. I don't want it. "Listen, this will be very dangerous. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. Just stay back." He shook his head. "I'm helping and nothing you say will make me go back on my word." Conall watched us. "I am too." "I don't really want to agree to this buit I guess I have no choice. Me too." Jack was staring at the night sky with a painful gaze. What can I say to him? Not long ago I had taken him out of his slump and he had believed he had liked me. But seeing him now, I know he liked me.
I can't accept his feelings and he knows it.
"Casey, Chad, and Maria will be staying back. They will defend our base. If things goes bad Casey will be the warrior while Maria and Chad use their powers to clear them off from our land." Conall said. "It might not be much but 6 of us will go with you. We can't risk using our clan's warriors if the team you have spoken of also have powers. So we'll have to deal with them ourselves."
Leo, Lloyd, Reika, Conall, Nico, Jack and me included. "It's 7 in total. I too have powers."
