In all honesty, it was sudden. And confusing.
Trot moved forward, but held himself in silence.
"What do you mean?"
Patrìx only cupped her hands together.
"What I said. Do you have any experience in the air? Due to a recent incident, we're in need of more pilots. With a few tests, we might accept you into our program."
"A little, but it was only for transp-"
"Good. Trot, head to Vani, and take Sniper with you as well."
Trot lowered his head.
"Yes, Grandmaster."
Trot moved towards the Sniper. He reopened the door and looked back at Sniper motioning him to follow. He waited until Sniper had went through the doorway before going with him. They headed down the hallways; same ones, but this time, Trot halted him and turned him in direction of a different hall. Sniper moved down that way. He felt uncomfortable with the silence, although he wasn't much of a talker himself.
"Uh. Are you..the guard, around here?"
"Leader of them." Was the simple, short answer. The Sniper decided not to ask anything after that.
Trot walked in front after some time, moving to a door and twisting the knob to open it. He allowed Sniper a passage.
They had entered a large room. Well, it was really big. And tall. It was like a garage, almost, had many tools and machines in each wall and corner. Above them, the roof seemed to be one giant window, speckled with snow here and there. To the right, long wall, there were multiple, large doors..and in front, pointed towards them, were medium sized aircraft. Rather small, actually, but large, compared to a human.
Still, The Sniper had no idea what to think. He was probably a little amazed, if not shocked, at the navy blue, metal machines that stood before him.
"Haven't seen a Hawk before?" Trot asked, sounding slightly amused.
"Hawk..- oh, that's what they're called.. No, I haven't..."
"Well, you'd better get used to them, because this base specializes in flight." He answered.
Eventually, a voice broke into the conversation.
"Commander Trot, greetings; and is this a new face?"
Trot shifted to the direction of the voice, Sniper following suit.
An olive skinned girl approached, with grey eyes and neck long, curly light brown hair. She wore a jacket and long pants of some sort - both were a brown colour.
"Hello, Captain Vani. This is.. Sniper. He'll be joining you today."
Vani. That was her name, then.
"Pleased to meet you, Sniper! I believe you'll enjoy your stay here!"
"I.. Nice you meet you too, Vani."
"Captain." Trot whispered, sounding annoyed.
"He is not on duty, so I believe that just 'Vani' is fine!"
"On.. Duty? What do you mean?" The Sniper asked.
Trot and Vani turned to them. Vani appeared to be about to answer, but Trot beat her to it.
"You're to join the Pilot Program as of Grandmaster orders. This is sort of an emergency, so your training will be brief, and.." Sniper heard him mutter something under his breath, but he suspected it wasn't a pleasant thing..
"Ah.. I don't like things to be direct, Trot, but you seem to enjoy that. So..
Welcome to the program, Sniper!"
