"Rosalie, you are welcome to whatever you please. You will be sharing a room with Sara. Nancy or Elizabeth will give you a quick tour of the house. My husband will be home soon." Kathleen explained as she rushed to grab her coat from the coat rack right before she hurried out of my new temporary home.
"She has the graveyard shift at the diner down the street so she can be home during the day while Edward works," I heard and I turned to see a red haired girl standing at the bottom of the staircase.
"You're Nancy, correct?" I asked, just to be sure.
"In the flesh. Now," she paused, "would you like to see the rest of the house?"
"Well, I would like to have an idea of where everything is, maybe a short tour, I am feeling pretty drained," I admitted.
Nancy smiled. "Of course, do not forget that we also have school tomorrow. Kathy has already taken care of everything, so you are enrolled. Sara is only a grade above you so she will walk with you while Lizzy and I head to our secondary classes."
"Okay," I nodded as she turned and I followed, listening to her only partially as she gave me a quick tour of where everything was as I could not stop thinking about what my first day of school would be like, I had missed two or three years at least due to being taken by Dr. Zola.
"And here's yours and Saras room. She is with Lizzy doing homework, so you might not see her for a while. She isn't the brightest when it comes to math." Nancy explained.
"Alright, thank you. Goodnight Nancy," I said and she gave me a small wave before she turned back down the hall and I went into my room where my belongings had already been placed by a small bed at the far left side of the room. I trudged over and plopped down on the bed, taking a moment to finally let the change sink in. My mind wandered to thoughts of what my brother, Levi, might be up to at this time since I was no longer there for him to train or spend time with. Then I thought of how much I surprisingly missed just being in Germany. I had despised being taken from my family for so long, but it was in this moment that I was just realizing how much Dr. Zola and the others had also gifted me.
