It was strange to see the bar in broad daylight. The place was even more run down than I had originally thought, no wonder no one ever tries to come here.

As soon as I stopped the car, Ellen and Alana hopped out and began doing a 'weapons check' on each other. Haylee hurried over to the driver's side as I rested my head against the steering wheel, suddenly feeling a wave of exhaustion and sickness come over me. She opened the door and pulled me out to stand in front of her.

"We need to get you both out of the sun." She says as she glances back at Chris, who looked just as ill as I felt.

"I don't want you going in there." I reply.

"Well, I'm going."

"Look, this isn't a comic book or a horror movie. These girls are brutal killers."

"So are the Frog sisters."

We both turned our attention to her friends, finding them still sorting through their things.

"Check me." Ellen tells her sister as she turns her back to Alana.

All they appeared to have was wooden stakes, pocket knives, and canteens of water. If our only defense was these two, I have a feeling that we're probably screwed.

"Listen, who would you rather go down there with you? Them or me?" Haylee questioned when she saw that she wasn't making a good point.

"If something happens in there, Chris nor I are going to have the strength to protect you."

She shrugged like this was nothing. "Well, this time I'll protect you instead. Even though you are a vampire, you're still my sister."

I sighed in defeat, it was clear that I wasn't going to get anywhere with her. It's an obvious fact that stubbornness runs in our family.

"Hey!" Ellen called as she stood in the doorway of the bar. "Just so you know, if you try to stop us or vamp out in any way, then I'll stake you without even thinking twice about it."

"Chill out, Ellen." Haylee calls back before I can say anything.

The sister's both sent me a long glare before Alana says, "Come on, let's do this."

"Do you think they'll ever lighten up after we turn back into humans?" Chris asks as he hobbles out of the vehicle.

"Doubt it." Haylee and I both respond and then chuckle.

Despite my reluctance, the three of us made our way inside. The dimness we stepped into was a welcome relief to my senses, but that was the only good feeling I felt right then. I knew that the sooner we got out of here, the better.

"So, where do you think Laney would be?" I asked as I headed around the other side of the bar.

"Back there." Chris tells me pointing towards the opening in the back of the building that sloped downwards into the earth.

I swallowed thickly and tried to sound brave as I said, "Alright, well let's go get her."

As I made my descent into the dark tunnel, I could hear the Frog sisters talking to each other.

"Holy shit!" Ellen exclaimed.

"It's a vampire hotel." Alana added.

"Here's one, come on let's stake her!"

As soon as I heard that I sprinted towards the sound of their voices and found them lifting a wood stake over Laney's sleeping body.

"Don't you touch her! Stay away from her!" I demand as I push myself between them and the little girl. "She's just an innocent kid."
