After leaving Taehyung and Jimin, Jin picks up his pace and searches the waters as fast and diligent as he can. The last thing he wants is to be caught off guard, again. He is in charge of the protection of the island and somehow he can't help of feel like he has failed. He has no idea what the disturbance was and why he felt like he could let the humans on the island for the first time. That will not go over well with anyone else.

Anyone could tell that something wasn't right, the ocean was still and quiet with an aura of fear and an edge that made goosebumps run across Jin's body. He was cautious as he searched the beaches and horizon for anything or anyone out of place. As he swam he dodge debris from the island, having to stay a bit closer to the surface in some places because of the murky waters.

He missed the easy calm and joy the ocean usually had, the singing whales and the dancing fish. He found inner peace swimming and playing with the marine life but now he can't relax like he did just this morning. He had a feeling that it was going to be like this, dark and filled with uncertainty, for a while and he will have to stay on land if he wanted to stay sane.

For the first time in his life, he wanted to get out of the water and get as far away as he can, but more importantly, he wants to protect his home and make sure his friends are safe. Even if that means staying in the water to look for any danger. He has a duty to fulfill and he plans to do so.

With determination Jin keeps swimming around the huge island and looking for any signs of danger, yet hasn't found anything. He spots a few creatures by the water's edge looking out for anything they can see, some spotting Jin and asking him questions.

All he could say was that he wasn't a hundred percent sure what was happening, he was just checking around for anything suspicious and that the council will discuss everything soon. He also advised everyone to stay inland and away from the water just in case and to send a message if they see anything unusual.

He kept repeating the same answers until he spotted an old friend. Mustang is a patient guy and knowing that they will meet again at the council meeting, Jin found it odd that he would be so eager to talk. Mustang sees Jin and imminently gallops closer, Jin swimming to meet him as well.

"Long time, no see old friend." Mustang smiles down at Jin fondly, "How is everything?"

"Don't call me old, grandpa." He happily returns the smile while reaching up to grab Mustang's hand in greeting. "Everything's been a little chaotic, but so far nothing.. uh.. life-threatening has happened. I'm looking out for any signs of danger though I hope not to find any."

"That's good to hear. I have a letter for Hoseok I was going to send but it would be faster just to give it to you, do you mind?" Mustang reaches into his bag and pulls out said letter.

"I would love to but... paper isn't waterproof, unfortunately." Jin chuckles. "Do you have anything to keep it dry in?"

"I might..." Mustang digs through his bag and pulls out a glass bottle, still half full, "I shouldn't be drinking while I'm on duty but between you and me, this is a part of the job." He sends Jin a quick wink before he chugs the bottle and folds the letter inside.

"Who is it from?" Jin asked as Mustang struggles a bit to seal the bottle tightly. Mustang pauses at that and sighs. Jin furrows his brows and gives him a confused look. Mustang met his look with a serious one.

"The dragons," Mustang said as he tossed the bottle to Jin. He missed it in shock and quickly dived into the water to retrieve it. When he found it and returned to the surface to ask Mustang more questions, his friend was already galloping away. "It was good seeing you old man." Mustang waved without looking back as he disappeared into the woods.
