Laughing Jack: I Nearly Lost You

I choose a black horse to ride on the carousel. I was at Laughing Jacks carnival. He's my best friend.

I hold on the the dirty reins as the creaky ride starts up. It begins moving faster and faster as I hold on for dear life.

I'm terrified as I feel my hands slip off the reins. My nearly 6ft body flies off the fast ride. All I can see is a blurry world before I slam onto the ground and black out.

Laughing Jacks P.O.V

I watch her hit the ground and feel powerless. I run over to her and hope she isn't dead.

She is still on the ground with a large puddle of blood around her. The blood is coming from a head wound. I fall to my knees and cradle her head of brown curls on my lap. She is alive but only just.

I think quickly and tear off a piece of bandage from my stomach. An array of multicolored candy falls from the opening.

I tie the bandage around her head, then I carry her into the tent. I lay her down on the bleachers. I sit by her for hours until I finally see her beautiful brown eyes again.

Spades P.O.V

I open my eyes and see L.J above me. The monochrome clown seems worried.

"L.J?" I ask in a croaky voice.

"Yeah, it's me." He says. I nod and feel a pain in my head. He must have read it on my face because he explains.

"You fell of the carousel and hit your head pretty hard. I was scared I lost you. I-I love you." It takes a moment to comprehend that but when I do

"I love you too." I say as I pull him down for a kiss.
