Life without the one you love is worthless. Keefe was called things like that—worthless— all his life, but he never felt it until now. Six years ago, to the day, Sophie and Keefe were out in Atlantis — giving Sophie a much needed break from all of the stress in her life, and Keefe the chance to ask her to be his girlfriend. He spent hours and hours before the date preparing for what he'd say. But nothing could prepare him for the last moments they'd have together.

Edaline and Biana rushed to help Sophie prepare for the date, even thought she'd assured them it wasn't actually a date. They made her into their doll: tugging at her hair, rubbing makeup on her tired face, and forcing her into a dress. In the end, she had to admit that she looked good.

"I think you're ready" Edaline stated, giving Sophie a tight hug. "Go have fun!"

Moments later, Keefe approached the door. He took a deep breath and knocked. Grady opened the door and simply smiled, much to Keefe's surprise. He walked Sophie out the door and held out a leaping crystal.

When they had arrived, the air felt unnerving. Something was wrong. Neither of them knew why, so they tried to brush off the feeling.

"You look beautiful." Keefe gushed, making Sophie blush. "Ooo, my favorite game: making Foster blush!"

"You don't look so bad yourself," Sophie replied, giving him a playful shove. She turned to Keefe and gave him a hug.

"What was that for?"

"Just to say thank you for being there.  You're always there when I'm down and need a laugh."

"You're welcome Foster. Now... I'm hungry! Let's go eat." They walked into a restaurant and got a table. The ate mallowmelt and laughed and had a great time. The end of their date was approaching when they heard a loud noise.

BANG!

"What was that?!" Sophie exclaimed. Moments later a flashed appeared, then disappeared. Keefe looked over to Sophie, ready to ask a question, but when he turned, she was in the ground.

"Sophie!" He propped her on his lap, keeping one hand on the dark red wound on her abdomen and the other was stroking her hair. "What happened?!"

"I-It was the N-N-Neverseen. Ruy used a f-f-force field." She managed to rasp, clearly in pain. Tears streamed down Keefe's cheek. He slowly lifted her shirt to look at the wound, but immediately looked away. Sophie knew she wasn't going to make it, so she guided Keefe's chin towards her and caressed his cheek.

"Keefe. I know how bad it is. I know I won't make it. So please, listen to me." Sophie drew in shaky breath and continued. "Keefe, tell Grady and Edaline that I love them. Tell them that they can't do what they did when Jolie died— shut everyone out— that they have to let other people help them. Tell the Vackers that they were always the best. They always knew what to do, and tell them that they have to help Grady and Edaline. Tell Dex that I will always love him for who he his." She was fully crying now. She knew what she had to tell Keefe, but she had to do it quickly. "Keefe," Keefe was refusing to look at her for fear that he would lose it. "Keefe look at me. I love you. I love you so much. But please, for me, don't waste your life mourning over me. Go enjoy life. Marry someone. Have children. Live life." She started to go limp, so she drew one last breath and pulled Keefe close, and gently kissed him. When he pulled back, she was lifeless.

Okay so... aaaaaaaah! I am in complete tears now. There is going to be a part 2, which will only make me cry more, but this is all I could do for now. Thanks again!
