In our Rave today, we were talking about the Story of David and Goliath.
The sub teacher that was filling in for us was explaining the story to us. He described Goliath as a very tall, barbaric and muscular man, even taller than him. He also described David as a tiny and skinny boy.
However, if you looked at a museum of mummies like that display in the museum on the Gold Coast. You'd know that the human body has evolved in height due to our technology in the modern day that gives us access to better food.
Would this mean, Goliath would have been an average tall man?
Just remember, the food and nutrition they received wasn't as good as the nutrition and food we get now. So what would seem like a giant back then would probably be smaller than us. If David is a small cute human bean as they say, he would be even smaller. They'd be teeny tiny peeps.
Or Goliath would be our size??
Maybe, maybe not. I haven't seen evidence of Goliath and David's bones, but I'm sure they wouldn't seem too muscular and tall as we think they are.
