She stood on the deck of the Intercepter, the nighttime breeze musing her blonde locks. She paid no attention to the wind or the rocking of the ship, lost in her own thoughts.

A certain pirate had been entering her thoughts often. Much. Too. Often. It had to stop. Every time she said she would stop thinking about him, he always found a way to sneak back into her thoughts.

Jack Sparrow. Captain. She chided herself. Captain Jack Sparrow.

She didn't hear him approach until he was standing next to her, looking at her with his dark mysterious eyes.

She kept her gaze down, even though she wanted to return his glance. They sat in silence for a moment until she spoke. "You didn't tell them about the curse."

"I noticed neither did you. For the same reason, I expect." he glanced over at her then back out at the water.

"He wouldn't have risked it."

"Could have gotten him drunk." her eyes snapped over to him and she gave him a look, her eyes narrowed.

He waved a hand, in a typical Jack-like mannerism. "Oh, don't get me wrong, luv." The smirk dropped from his lips and his expression became serious once more "I admire a person who's willing to do whatever's necessary."

"You're a smart man, Jack," she sighed, glancing at him, her heart fluttering as a ghost of a smile passed across his lips. "But I don't entirely trust you."

He turned and faced her, his signature smirk adorning his lips once again. He leaned towards her so their faces were inches apart. "Peas in a pod, darlin'," he murmured, looking into her eyes.

She could feel his light breath on her lips, hypnotizing her once again. She was starting to lean forward when she saw a moment over his shoulder.

James Norrington.

She jerked back and ducked her head, thankful for the darkness to cover her light blush.

Jack started as well, spinning around to face the Commodore and backing up a few steps so he was standing besides her.

"With me, Sparrow." Norrington said curtly, tossing the compass at Jack, forcing him go catch it.

Jack sent an semi-apologetic glance at Elizabeth before reluctantly following the Commodore.

Elizabeth watched him go then turned back to the water, shaking her head. She loved Will and that was final. What she felt for Jack Sparrow meant nothing. It would pass, along with everything else.
