"Killmonger has the full support of our military and... he burned the Garden of the heart-shaped herb."
My blood boiled at the end of Nakia's sentence. Okoye not leaving understandable, she's loyal to the throne not so much the perosn sitting in it but destroying the garden the last tangible memory of Zuri-he's going down.
"Of course he did that's what he was trained to do. His unit used to work with the CIA to destabilize foreign countries. They would always strike at transitions of power like an election year, the death of a monarch you get control of government the military."
" Our resources." I mumbled
"Right." Ross agreed.
"The Great Mound."
"Vibranium. All of my designs."
"He will send our weapons all over the world. You must get them out of Wakanda safely." T'Challa stood looking at Ross.
"What?"Mother said.
"Yes.I was thinking the exact thing." I said looking her in the eyes.
"You as well,Nori."
"What?!
No way." I stood
"What about you?"
"The challenge will have to continue."
" T'challa we will not leave Wakanda."
"Tell him again." I stood next to Umama.
" It is my duty to keep you safe."
" If he gets control of our technology nowhere will be safe." Shuri said
"I brought him home so I have to do something."
"No one blames you Nori."
"I blame me. That's enough."
Shuri got this smile on her face. One I've seen when she comes up with something clever to say. She pulled out the necklace from her blanket and placed it on T'Challa.
" the Black Panther lives and when he fights for the fate of Wakanda I will be right there beside him."
"As will I." Nakia joined.
" I'm in too."
We all looked at Ross.
"What? You're going to need all the help you can get."
"Are you done? Are you done?" M'Baku yawned breaking up the happy family reunion.
The four of us walked out leaving T'Challa and M'Baku alone.I tried to ignore the feeling of eyes on the side of my face so when I looked to the side and saw my mother's eyes on me, I got nervous.
"W-yes?" I asked slowly.
"Brought us to Baku." She said smiling a little.
"Mother,I just shorted his name. Nothing wrong with that."
"Oh no but, don't think i don't know you visited him for a whole year before." The smile on my face dropped.
"Heh heh, she's a good friend. " At looked at Grand Elder Alma as she laughed
"You told her!?"
"Yes dear,she was worried."
I grumbled under my breathe before kissing my mother and going back to the throne room.
"They asked to be left alone." Nakia said blocking my path.
"I know. I won't interrupt, I'll just offer extra words of encouragement. But I'll wait until the king is finished speaking."
"Heh. Baku." Shuri laughed as shot her a look.
I didn't feel like saying his full name sometimes. He never complained about it so it was never a problem.
"We will not help you." I heard M'Baku say.
T'Challa thanked him once more before being lead by a guard to wherever.
I walked in watching M'Baku sit back on the chair. He just only peeked at me through his large hand on his face.
" I told you not to go and you did not listen you said it yourself you came back with him. It's your problem fix it."
I felt super attacked. I was just standing there, I didn't say anything, I didn't look at him in any special way.
Why would he come for me like that?" I remember when you came back with something that I helped you get rid of. " I said locking my jaw.
M'Baku opened his mouth to say something but, I beat him to it."You think just because you reside up in the mountains that the land below is not your problem. It isn't. But at the same time it is. The J'bari tribe is part of Wakanda whether the people part of it chooses to acknowledge that fact or not. If T'challa had fallen in battle and this plan to distribute weapons went successfully, who do you think he'd come for next? Certainly not the Border tribe or the River."
I walked closer to his throne and M'Baku sat up straighter.
"I know how stubborn you can be and my words probably have went past you but, hear this."
I moved back and bowed to him.
M'Baku did a very good job of hiding his emotions but,the eyes never lie.
"Thank you for saving T'challa."
I left and steadied myself against the door as it closed. When I opened my eyes Grand Elder Alma was smiling at me.
I walked over to her and she linked arms with me.
"When the Queen and T'chaka brought you home with them that might. I wasn't too sure about you. I kept watch as you grew up and something about you still didn't sit right with me but, it was the day you traveld up here. That day you had high and might little M'Baku trailing after you like a cloud in the wind and all he did was look at you. One look! It was that day, I knew you'd grow to be wonderful."
I was very I'll prepared for the journey up here more so for the arrival of the J'bari land. It was cold, now I knew it would be cold just not that cold plus I remembered that J'bari didn't like the land down the mountain so I shedded some layers to look less like an outsider. It had worked for the most part till I noticed I was being followed this has to be a few months into training with Okoye.
I walked into a crowed area and disappeared only to grab my follower by the collar of his shirt and confront him. Which him at the time was a slighter smaller, shorter M'Baku.
Elder Alma patted my arm bringing out from my flashback, " Only Humana had the pleasure of meeting your mother but, if she could see you today. Nori, she'd be very proud. As am I."
"Thank you."
"You are a better woman than you give yourself credit for."
She walked off humming a town, I swear I hearf before but, I returned to my family to ready a plan a rid the monster I brought home.
