Jaebum woke up abruptly in the same place he was before, except there was something different. There was a different feeling in the air that made his heart race. His left arm was numb from the beginning of his shoulder to the tips of his fingers. He picked it up to shake it, only to reveal that his timer was not only at 0, but it was blinking a bright red.

"Your hand numb?" Jaebum noticed a male with light brown hair and prince-like features standing in the doorway.

"I'm the primary nurse for this room, Park Jinyoung." As Jinyoung approached the bed, Jaebum zoned in on the pinkness of his lips and the shallow dimples that only became visible when he smiled.  Jinyoung was a nurse and a gorgeous one too, so Jaebum wouldn't mind if the eye candy was his soulmate.

"So you have a-" Jinyoung started as he picked up the clipboard at the end of Jaebum's bed,"-a sprained shoulder. Your arm being numb is normal, its a short-term effect of the painkillers we've got you on. "

Jaebum watched as Jinyoung went to walk away and there is no way he could let that happen. If Jinyoung was his soulmate he needed to know now. He let out a small groan and Jinyoung ran over with worry.

"It's hurting now?" Jinyoung asked with wide chocolate eyes while Jaebum nodded, "if you sit up I can check it out."

This is it, Jaebum thought as he sat up, he's my soulmate. Jinyoung brought his hands to raven-haired man's back.  Jaebum braced himself for the heavily beating heart and the internal ringing, but as Jinyoung's fingers reached his shoulder he felt nothing, the only feeling to rush on her him was disappointment. Jaebum let out a string of sighs as Jinyoung left the room to get food for the patients on their floor.

Jaebum's arm finally felt back to normal as he adjusted himself in his bed.

"Jackson has been asleep for a while so I'm the only one awake. You've sighed like 4 times since Jinyoung left, so, you good?" Jaebum looked over at the closed curtain that held Mark and Jackson behind it.

"Yeah, my shoulder just acted up. And I got a lot of other shit on my mind." JB said as he became comfortable in his bed.

"Mine has done that too. For me, I have to wait a long time before being relieved of that uncomfortableness. Doctor Seokjin is the only one who is allowed to care for me since my body is so fragile right now. I'm not even supposed to be in this room. I'm supposed to be in a single room so my conditions can be watched closely. My broken rib almost punctured my lung and after the procedure to fix it, I became depressed and it showed in my health. So, after a little bit of begging, Seokjin put me in this room with Jackson, which made my health increase. It's the magic of best friends." Jaebum could envision the smile on Mark's face.

"Best friends?"

"Well yea, what did you think?" Mark asked curiously.

"You guys really care about each other so I thought you two were soulmates." Jaebum sighed once again, completely giving away his biggest problem.

"I haven't met mine yet, I'm stuck here, Im guessing you haven't either?"

"We are in the same situation," Jaebum said with a chuckle before staring at the back of his left hand with hatred.

'This fucking sucks' he thought.

He slowly turned his hand over and looked at his wrist.

"What the fuck?" Jaebum's glowing red timer was now flipping through numbers at an extreme pace, running rampant in every column.

"Everything okay?" Mark asked sweetly.

"My timer was at zero when Jinyoung first came in here, but now its glowing extra bright and moving quickly through numbers. This is just fucking great, I totally need this right now!" Jaebum announced, the last sentence coming out with a heavy tone of sarcasm.

"Which hand is your dominant?" Mark asked with interest in his voice.

"Left"

"I thought so. It's because of your shoulder." Jaebum's heart sped fast as sweat trickled down his face. What in the hell was he supposed to do now? His timer is broken and he has no idea how to fix it.

"Wait, how do you kno-"

"I should wake up Jackson now." Jinyoung entered the room and made his way to Jackson's bed. The gorgeous nurse opened every curtain and handed the boys their food before nodding and leaving the room.

The room was so quiet that Jaebum could easily hear the sound of his shoulder cracking everytime he moved.  He looked over at Jackson, who seemed to only be quiet because he was tired. The brunette was the first to finish his food and quickly made his way to Mark's bed to help him eat. Mark's condition was worse than Jaebum thought. Mark really needed everyone to do everything for him while he was like this. Jackson sat Mark's tray atop of his own before laying down once again to go to sleep. Jaebum finished not too long after and laid back, fiddling with the part of the hospital gown that covered his knees. Mark let out a small noise, making Jaebum look up quickly. Mark moved a part of the sling on his right arm before holding up his wrist for Jaebum to see. Jaebum observed the boy's arm. On Mark's wrist, there was a red timer that looked just like Jaebum's, especially since it was going as wild as his own. Mark nodded his head and carefully returned his arm to the sling before laying down slowly.

"I guess we have the same favorite color," Jaebum said as he stared at the white ceiling above him.

"Yup," Mark chuckled, "And the same shitty situation that no one understands."
