-Rory-

"Will you marry me?"

The question echoes through my head to the point where I wasn't sure if I was sleep deprived or not. "....Rory?"He asked. "....Can... I think about it?" I ask. " of course." He says softly. He didn't seem disappointed by my response. In fact he appeared to have shocked himself when he asked.

"...Have you talked to my mom at all?" I ask. "Yes." Jess confirms. "Wow so you've thought about this..." I mumble. "I can go if you want." He says. "Well I want to think, but I'm not sure what to do... oddly enough I want to talk to my mom." I mumble. "How about this? I'll go get breakfast with the two idiots, and I'll bring some over night things while I'm at it." He says. "Thank you." I smile. He kisses my forehead and leaves.

Mom walks in soon after.

"Jess sent me in here. What's up?" She asks. "Mom.. he proposed." I admit. She takes a breath. "The boy works fast I'll tell you." She says. I smile at her words. "Did you say yes?" Mom asks. "No." I tell her. "So you said no?" Mom ask again. "No." I repeat. "So you said..." Mom awaits a answer. "I asked him if I could think about it and he said okay." I tell her. "...so... do you think you'll say yes?" Mom asks. "I don't know. Right now Emily is all I've thought about." I admit. "Well... At least you've got the whole name thing established." Mom jokes. I chuckle softly at her calm antics. "....Did you give him your blessing?" I ask to confirm. "Yeah. Why?" She asks. "So... would it bother you if I said yes?" I ask. "No. I mean, used to, it would've, but Jess has changed." Mom adds. "....So... Still leaning towards nothing?" Mom questions. "....I might be leaning to something. But... can I ask you another thing?" I ask. "Sure. " Mom confirms. "How did you know? With Luke?" I ask. "Ahaha... Well I had always had moments where I had considered it. But after a while it seemed like neither of us were in the right place or the right time. But one night, it changed.  They say things like love don't change overnight, but that's complete crap. It was like all those feelings, all those concerns of what could happen, all of our worries, went away with one kiss." Mom explains.

And then it hits me.

"....Oh... I have my answer." I announced.

-Jess-

I walk out into the waiting room when Emily stops me. "I need to talk to you." Emily announces. "Me?" I ask to confirm.  "Yes." She utters. Luke shoots me a concerned look as I walk down the hall with her. "I've heard you want to marry my granddaughter. " She says. "Oh... Yes.." I admit. "I have to admit when Rory announced she was back together with you I wasn't thrilled." She begins. "But. My daughter has changed that. She has always had a good judgment on people, though sometimes I can't admit it "  She sighs. "She speaks highly of you Jess. And  I'm here to say this: if you ever hurt Rory, physically or mentally, I will bring down your entire world around you and make it very hard for you to live anywhere. And by any where I mean: you might have to move to the moon." She warns. "Am I clear?" She asked. "Yes ma'am." I  agree. She nods. "Good. Carry on."

I walk back to tell Lorelai that Rory wanted to talk to her and I wake Colin and Finn. The three of us leave for breakfast.
