"That was more depressing than I expected," Taehyung sniffles as the boys leave the movie theatre. Jeongguk puts a hand on his lower back to comfort the older.
"There, there, it was your idea." He pats Taehyung a little. "Let's go cheer you up!" Jeongguk leads his boyfriend over to a little outdoor market at the town square. People are starting to close but some stands selling snacks and food are still lit up. "Hey Tae, get whatever you want, my treat!"
"But- but," Taehyung protests as Jeongguk pushes him forward.
"No buts," Jeongguk says flatly. "You paid my movie ticket, I pay for your food."
"This guy..." Taehyung grunts but is unable to hide the smile creeping up on his face. Not wanting to buy anything expensive for the sake of Jeongguk, he looks around for a minute before deciding on a waffle topped with chocolate and whipped cream. He orders it, and Jeongguk pays despite the older's unwillingness. Taehyung takes the waffle, thanks the chef and drags Jeongguk to the nearest park bench.
"Wanna taste some?" Taehyung holds out the waffle to Jeongguk who nicely declines the offer. Probably for the better, honestly. It tastes a bit weird but Taehyung's hungry and it'd be rude to throw something his boyfriend bought him away. The boys sit on the bench while Taehyung's eating, chatting about their songwriting project.
"We should add a bridge, shouldn't we?" Jeongguk sighs. He leans against the older, stroking his knee slowly.
"Yeah... let's meet up some day and do it then."
"We meet up everyday."
"You know what I meant." Tae hits Jeongguk's arm playfully before shoving the last piece of waffle in his mouth. "Thanks for the food, babe!" he pecks Jeongguk's lips affectionately, earning a loving smile. "Now come on, you live far away and I don't want to be the cause of your sleeping schedule being messed up." He grabs the younger's hand to help him up, walking him to the bus stop.
"See you tomorrow, then!"

Or not. As Jeongguk walks to the bus that morning, his phone buzzes in his bag.

Jeongguk frowns and enters the bus, searching for friends to sit with. He spots Jimin and Hoseok but honestly it's a bit awkward to hang out with them without Taehyung, so when Kwon Aeri waves him over he just goes along with it and takes a seat next to her. Give her a chance, remember?
"Morning!" She says cheerfully, Jeongguk pretends that it doesn't annoy him as much as it does.
"Hi."
"No other guy with you today?" she looks around a little.
"My boyfriend is sick."
"What a shame." She fakes a pout and is, to Jeongguk's surprise, not that talkative throughout the rest of the ride. Aeri asks him to meet up to study during lunch break which Jeongguk hesitantly agrees to, thinking it's good to do something productive.
He's going to regret that later.

"Okay, Aeri, if we're gonna get anything done with this you'll have to focus." Jeongguk rolls his eyes for the 100th time that half hour and rests his elbow on the couch's armrest.
"Oh, um, yeah." Aeri speaks quietly because they're in the school library and looks down to the computer again. Since they're both equally bad at history and go to the same class, they're helping each other out with essays. Perhaps not the most fun acticity to do with someone who gets on your nerves, but at least it'll help both of them out.
"You haven't done a thing!" Jeongguk looks at her screen, eyes narrowed.
"Someone distracted me." The expression on her face suddenly changes as she puts a hand on the computer, closing it slowly. She smirks at Jeongguk, who's now looking up at her, irritated.
"Now why would you do tha- wooah Aeri what's going on?" He impulsively backs away as the girl shuffles closer, then she jumps back too. Jeongguk could swear she whispers something among the lines of "no, no, no, nope, definitely not, nope, stop it, no..."
"Hey umm, you should probably leave..." she mumbles, fiddling with her skirt.
"Well no, you dragged me over here and I really need to finish the essay!" Jeongguk doesn't think much of it.
"Yeah, okay."
They keep working for a little while, Aeri's constant tapping on the table making Jeongguk uneasy. He shrugs it off and keeps writing until clicking noises are coming from the other's mouth, making it impossible to concentrate.
"Oh my god what's up with you!?" He turns to face Aeri abruptly, making her snap her head up from being startled. Their eyes meet and Jeongguk is thrown off as he notices that Aeri's trying not to cry. Her mood obviously keeps going up and down today.
"I just...sorry for this."
Jeongguk doesn't have a chance to ask what exactly she's sorry about, because all of a sudden there's another person's nose bumping against his, and a pair of chapped lips on his own.
Jeongguk's brain doesn't process what's going on and he keeps his eyes open as he let's Aeri kiss him for a few seconds. It isn't until he feels a tear that is not his own fall down his cheek, that Jeongguk fully takes in what's going on and puts his hands on the girl's shoulders, pushing her away almost too violently.
She gets a horrified expression on her face as the realisation of what just happened dawns on her, and she quickly stands up.
"Oh my god, no no no no!" She grabs her hair. "This wasn't supposed to happen..." Jeongguk just stares at her, eyes wide open as she hurriedly gathers her things. "I'm so sorry, oh my god. I'm so sorry!" she sobs. "I just wanted attention I- I just needed someone who liked me, I'm, oh my god, I'm so sorry!"
She races out of the almost empty library, leaving Jeongguk completely speechless. That took a turn. Well, thank god he didn't kiss back.

it's not like writers block it's something new i just...can't
like i hear myself how cringey this chapter was kfnsjdjdjjd
i've been intensely studying maths for a month (hence the lack of updates, sorry) and now i actually can't write a sentence?? on the good side i raised my maths grade so yay :)
anyways summer break started just now and so i'm hoping to write more and work up my skills again... oh and i have like five other stories i've been planning, so when this is finished (pretty soon) expect a new book shortly after!
