We walk into my room, and Jesse looks uncomfortable. "I'm sorry for her. I didn't know she was going to act like that. I really d-" And he kissed me. I don't know how to kiss. I've tried on my hand before, I know that's kind of weird, but it worked. I kissed him back and he even grabbed my cheek!
He pulls away and asks, "Will you go out with me Emma Sullivan?" I hesitate, but in my mind, I'm freaking out.
"Of course I will, Jesse." I say without a voice crack which I was expecting because that's just my luck. Right? Well, not today because "Today is a good day!" I accidentally start yelling my thoughts.. Oops. "Well, yeah, I hope so." We laugh, but mine has a nervous touch to it. "Oh man, this is going to be great." Jesse says under his breath. I don't know what that means, but I agree. This is going to be great.
We start to cuddle and he asks, "How long do you think we'll last?" I shrug my shoulders. "How am I supposed to know? We'll last as long as we last." I adjust myself and lean up against him again.
"Emma!" We hear from downstairs. Its papa.
I waddle downstairs (because my whole body is asleep), and answer him. "Yes papa?" "Who's upstairs with you?" He asks with a gruff tone, almost stern. "Jesse, why?" 'He's no longer allowed in your room!"
I'm kind of scared now. Papa has never yelled at me like that. "But, why? I m-" I start. "Because you two are dating now. I mean, you're not even old enough, but I'll let this one slide. And I'm not telling grammy." He whispers. "It'll be just between us two." I smile and so does he.
I just love papa. We have so many secrets from grammy. The whole secret thing started when I was about three or four. One secret was that I'd get gummy worms before dinner every time I slept over. That was a really bad idea, I got sick almost every weekend I went over.
He follows me down to my room and said good job to Jesse. "You have a good girl, man. She's a keeper. Just saying." And he walks out.
