It took exactly three minutes for Blue and Green to get back to the treehouse. Three minutes was just enough time. If they left three minutes earlier Blue and Green probably could've stopped it. But, it was highly doubtful. They would have to go up against Red. And that wasn't a good idea. If Red had a lighter on hand he would be unstoppable.
When they finally got there it was utter chaos. The tree-house is currently burning. Or what was left of it. Flames, ashes, and smoke were everywhere you looked. Some trees close by had caught on fire and had started a chain reaction. You can see wood fall to the ground, all of their belongings they'd stored up for two years inside were turned to ashes. The worst part is everything they needed to survive was in that tree house. They had nothing left. And in the middle of all of the chaos was Red he just stood there, a wide grin spread across his face. He was looking down at his hand. He was holding a lighter. But when he looked up at Green and Blues stunned faces he realized something. He had blacked out again. That tends to happen when a lighter falls into his grasp. His smile fell as fast as it had come. He looked around at the damage that he had done. He yelled in frustration and rage, punching a nearby tree, his fist bleeding. He was angry at himself for doing this to his friends. His knees buckled and fell with a loud thud, tears running down his face. Red couldn't believe that he had done it again.
Green just stood there, stunned, while Blue jumped into action. Which was really surprising, considering the only thing Blue lifted is a pillow and throwing it at an alarm multiple times.
Blue ran over to Red and pulled him to his feet. Blue slung his arm around red and started dragging him out of what was left of their former home. Green started crying not knowing what to do. He had a lot of things running through his mind. Should he stay there or go help? Would he be a distraction? Was he to clumsy to carry Red? Green didn't know what to do. Blue looked up at Green.
"Well don't just stand there, help me!" Blue yelled, obviously struggling to support Red.
Green quickly nodded his head and ran over to Red's side and slung his arm around himself as well. They sped-walked through the thick part of the trees. The only times they did stop was to rest because Red got too heavy, or someone (Green) tripped over a tree root, he may also have tripped over a small animal from time to time.
"Hey, it's going to be alright," Blue reassured Green. "We're going to build another tree house, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever!" At that moment, Green realizes that he had been crying. He just nodded his head and continued to walk slowly.
But in the end, it was Green who had the idea to go into the clearing. It was the only peaceful place that was in The Great Wood. A few minutes later they arrived at the clearing and put Red down. Blue and Green's arms were sore because of Red's weight. They both sat on the ground and looked at each other for a moment. The sun was rising lighting up the clearing slightly.
"It's so pretty," Green states.
"Yeah. It's kind of nice, actually."
The breeze is cool against Green's skin and he sighs. It is nice compared to the hell that happened what seemed like moments ago. You could still faintly smell the smoke still but the fire was slowly turning into nothing. Green looked back at Red and frowned.
"Where do you think he got it?" Blue asked. Green looked back at Red too.
"Got what?" Green asked confused.
Blue looked at Green seriously.
"The lighter." Blue said bluntly. "I knew he was a pyromaniac but I didn't know to what extent. And when Red told me about his "problem" I didn't think anything of it because I knew there was no way he could get his hands on one. Unless..."
"What do you mean, he told you about his problem? This is news to me," Green asked, oblivious to the last thing Blue had said.
"He was trying to protect you." You could hear the sympathy in Blues' voice. "You know you're his favorite."
"Really?" Green is surprised. "I don't understand."
"He says you are the most truthful and trustworthy person he has ever known." Blue shrugged. "I just think you're kinda short."
Green just laughed at the statement. A second later he frowned. Is that really what Red thought of him? Truthful and honest? If they only knew.
Before Blue layed down and closed his eyes as Green stood up and looked across the clearing and pointed.
"What's that?"
"I don't know, I can't see anything," Blue says, eyes still closed.
"No seriously, I think I see something, or someone." Green's voice rose.
Blues eyes flew open at that comment. Blue follows in suite and stands up as well, looking in the same direction.
"No, that's definitely a person" Blue says.
As Blue said that they saw three more figures stand up. Yes, they were definitely people. Green looks hopeful, on the other hand Blue is skeptical. They don't know why the person was clearing, but they are going to find out. Soon enough.
