A/N: Hey everyone who's reading:) (like all 3 of you haha), just wanted to say sorry for the short chapters so far; they'll get longer as the book continues. They're short now because I'm just trying to get into the story; bear with me!:) Thanks for reading and please vote and comment if you have anything to say!

The bright white light was blinding to Sarah, even though she knew her eyes weren't even open. The first thing that came to her senses was a faint and constant beeping sound. Over the course of what she figured was maybe 5 or 10 minutes, it had grown increasingly louder. When it started, she mentally heaved a heavy sigh of relief, as she was grateful to have a change from the never ending static buzzing in her mind. She also realized that she was hearing a noise; a real, actual, noise. Sarah would've cried for joy, if she could've. Not long after the beeping started, the insides of her eyelids had grown increasingly brighter. It was like when you stare at the sun with closed eyes, and the brightness shines as a light red through your eyelids. Another thing Sarah didn't know she missed until now. After she began noticing the light, all that was really left to do, was to open her eyes.
Although opening ones eyes seems as simple as breathing, it became the biggest challenge in the world for Sarah. She fought and fought the strong urge to go back to the comfort of her deep sleep, but sadly wasn't awarded the dream of waking up.As she fought to wake up, she occupied her mind with what little memories she remembered of her family. Her moms soft face drifted through her mind. The familiar dirty blonde hair spilling over her moms shoulder and blinding white smile, all on a petite oval face, gave her the encouragement she needed. And so did her dads face, framed with close cut charcoal black hair and the smile that he smiled to her everyday as he said "everything's going to be OK pumpkin". Finally, after what seemed like hours of endless effort, a beam of light broke through her eyelids, momentarily blinding her. Sarah wanted to cry. She couldn't believe she actually did it. Now the trick was to open her eyes the rest of the way. But now, a glimmer of hope found its way to her, telling her that for once, it was going to be alright. She would live.
