The men decide to tread water and keep themselves upright in the water. Peter and Jimmy only exhaust themselves even more by doing so.
After a while of treading, Peter stops and Jimmy quickly notices, breathing a sigh of relief, and stops, too. The men are very tired, and they soon realize that they can lean back and relax and let their life vests do the heavy lifting.
