Chapter 12

*4 weeks later*

Steve Natasha and Bucky took Natalie back to Wakanda for Shuri to see if Natalie's knee was better. Natalie laid up on the bed as Shuri took the brace off and was a bundle of nerves as she placed the x ray machine on her knee. "I can tell you that the bruising is completely gone and it doesn't look like anything is sticking out." Shuri said to Natalie 

"Well that's good to know. Now to see if I can finally be out of a brace Shuri please tell me I can finally start getting back to me. I feel less of a Carter like this." Natalie said

"Baby you are still a Carter no matter what." Bucky said as he kissed her cheek

"Alright let's see what we got." Shuri said as she turned to her screen. 

Natalie started to bite her lip as Shuri was doing comparisons to her new x rays and the old ones. "She's taking to long Bucky that's a bad sign I know it is" she whispered 

"No it's not she's just making sure she doesn't miss anything." he said to her

"Ok well Ms Natalie it looks like the fracture is completely healed. But I would advise from high kicks with leg until you get the knee use to moving again. I would start with slow walks on the treadmill and a athletic brace till the knee can handle the strain of your abilities again. I would also refrain for gymnastics till it's better." Shuri said 

Natalie felt tears fall. She was relieved that she no longer had to wear a brace but knowing that she still can't go on missions till her knee stronger breaks her heart. "Just take me home." she whispered 

"Baby whats wrong?" Bucky said to her 

"Natalie you know that you have to get it strong before you can do anything else." Natasha said 

"I just want to go home please." Natalie said with tears 

Bucky helped her up and down off the bed and said "Thanks Shuri." 

Shuri felt awful and said "Natalie I know it hurts to not be able to do missions but honey atleast you can finally walk on it again." 

"Yeah I guess." Natalie said

They were all on jet. Natalie wouldn't say a word just quietly cried. Natasha looked at Steve and said "We have to do something. I'm scared Steve I'm scared that she is going to quit cause she can't do anything right now." 

They finally landed and everyone that didn't go was clapping as they got off the plane but when they seen that Natalie didn't look happy they quickly stopped. She got on the elevator and said "FRIDAY take me to my room." 

She went straight for the room that has now become hers and Bucky's and laid down and covered up and cried herself to sleep. Meanwhile downstairs in the meeting room everyone else was in the meeting room including Bucky. 

"Ok guys right now Natalie needs her team. As you could tell she is finally able to walk on her knee without a brace. Shuri informed her that she is able to walk and do light training. And for those of you that know Natalie know that isn't Natalie. Natalie is hurting because she feels like she has let everyone down. The only person that she has had in her corner has been Bucky he went to her physical therapy appointment and noticed that her sister was throwing her aunt Peggy in her face telling Natalie that she was letting her down by not fighting back. Natalie is a Carter and even she knows that comes with responsibility to be the best because of Peggy. Peggy taught Natalie to never give up to never stop fighting for what you believe in and right now Natalie is losing her will to fight back. As a team we are going to help Natalie do you understand me? Steve said to everyone in the room
