"Peter! Get up!" My Aunt May yelled at me. I looked at my phone and the time read 6:20. I got up and got ready for the first day of the new school week, grabbing a bagel on the way out of the house.

"Bye May," I said before shutting the apartment door and getting on my way to school. School was okay, I didn't really have any friends, but I was fine with that. They would have too much to get into if they knew me. The closest person to me besides Aunt May was Betty. We're lab partners in Chemistry, and she seems to actually like me, so that's a plus.

I arrive at school after a forty-five minute walk, and I have about ten minutes until school starts. I head to my locker and grab my things for Chemistry. It's the first class of my day, so the early morning isn't so bad.

I sit down five minutes early and no one is in the room, not even Ms. Warren. I start making a checklist of things I have to do at the layer today. Working in the layer is fun, even though it's illegal. I help make weaponry and high tech for the Avengers. The items we use are illegal, and we give them to the Avengers to help them save the world. I have yet to meet any of them, even though I've made arrows for Hawkeye, and suit parts for Iron Man. I'm pretty new to the whole thing, I just started a month ago, but I got this job because of my brains. I'm good at making high tech things, I once made a computer all on my own.

I opened my planning notebook and starting writing things to do. I needed to make new explosive arrows for Hawkeye, and fix one of the computers in the lab.

I looked up for a second and noticed Betty coming to our lab table and immediately shut my notebook.

"Hey Betty!" I said, and looked up at her. Wow. She looks gorgeous.

"Hey," she said back to me, smiling. She was wearing a really pretty pink top with blue jeans, with her hair in her usual ponytail.

"How are you?" I asked, trying to make conversation as everyone else came in the room.

"I'm okay for a Monday morning," she replied.

"Yeah, same." The announcements came on and we said the pledge of allegiance and sat back down to listen to the announcements.

"Good morning students! Hope you're having a good Monday morning! I have a couple announcements for you today, the first being that we have a football game this Friday here at seven o'clock. Show up with your student ID and you will get in for free. The second is a reminder that homecoming is this Saturday! Tickets are five dollars if you purchase them beforehand, but you can also get them for eight dollars at the door. Have an amazing day," the principal said over the intercom.

Ms. Warren wasn't here yet. Weird. She's almost never late.

"So, do you have a date to Homecoming?" Betty asked.

"Nope. I don't know who I'm going to ask yet, I don't really have anyone to ask," I said. "Do you have a date?"

"Not yet, I'm just going to go with Kevin if no one asks me."

"Like as friends?"

"Yeah, I'm kind of crushing on this one guy right now, so hopefully he'll ask me," she said, looking straight in my eyes the whole time. Just when she finished her sentence, Ms. Warren walked in.

"Sorry I'm late class! I had a crazy morning. Anyways, you know what to do! Get your supplies and start working on the lab for the day. Instruction sheets are on the front table."

Betty went to go get the instructions sheet and I got the supplies. We started getting the lab set up and read the directions.

"I can take notes this time if you want," I said.

"Okay, I'll just need you to tell me what to do because you're the smart one," Betty said, laughing.

"Hey, you're smart too," I said, I reached into my backpack and got out a notebook and a pencil.

"Let's start this," Betty said, mixing the chemicals together. We observed the mixture for a couple of seconds and then I turned in my notebook to an open page. Except, it wasn't my science notebook. It was my planning notebook, and the page I turned to had designs for new Iron Man tech.

Shit.
