"Woah, what's that?" I asked, interested.

"It-it's a drawing," He replied, looking nervous. "It's nothing." He shut his notebook and put it in his backpack and grabbed a different one out of his backpack. I wasn't going to ask about it, but I let my curiosity get the best of me.

"Are you sure? That looked like a drawing of Iron Man's suit," I said.

"Shhh!" He grabbed my hand and looked me dead in the eyes. My heart was pounding.

"What?" I whispered. I was really confused.

"Betty, you can't tell anyone, not even Kevin about that drawing. If you do I will get in so much trouble and I just, I need you to keep this secret for me. Please Betty."

"Yes, yes of course I will, but could you maybe tell me more? I'm really curious as you know," I said.

"If you know what I'm doing, you'll know something illegal," Peter said. What does he mean by that? What is he up to?

"Okay. I'm fine with that."

"You may be in danger if you know."

"That's ok. I can live with that."

"Okay," Peter said, and let go of my hand. "Are you free after school?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Oh, I was just thinking you could maybe come over and we could talk about all my illegal business," Peter said, laughing.

"Sure. That sounds fun," I said laughing. My heart was beating a million miles a minute. I get to hang out with my crush after school. I must be the luckiest girl alive. And he held my hand!

"Oh my god. Peter?"

"Yeah?" He said, looking up. Right when he looked up, he saw the problem.

Our experiment was about to explode.

"Everybody look out!" I yelled, grabbing my backpack off the floor and running to the back of the classroom. Peter did the same and most of the class ran to the back as well.

Boom.

Our mixture had exploded all over the four front lab tables, and I knew why. We weren't paying attention and mixing it, and we just let it build up to the point of explosion. Most of the students were laughing and saying how cool it was, but Peter and I just stood there, worried about our grades.

"Peter, Betty, come up here please," Ms. Warren said from the front of the room.

We walked up to the front of the room, and I was so scared. I didn't know what she was going to say to us.

"I'm so sorry Ms. Warren I didn't know it was going to-"

"It's okay, Mr. Parker. I know it was an accident, and I saw you and Betty talking about something that looked very important," Ms. Warren said.

"Yeah, sorry," Peter said.

"Now what were you talking about that was more important than your lab work, might I ask?"
