WOCA: When and why did you start writing the winning book? What were your motivations?
WINNER: I started writing the book 3 years ago. I wrote the book because I had a good idea and I like little red riding hood, so putting my own twist on it was fun. Then I came to realize how much I liked fairytale twists, so I made this one and lots of people enjoy it
WOCA: What inspired you to create the characters? What about the plot?
WINNER: What inspired me the make the characters, and I know this sounds stupid, but an Arthur episode was my main inspiration. The plot is all me. I thought of all the twists and stuff
WOCA: How did you get past the difficult moments, like the famous writer's block, short time or dislikes from other people?
WINNER: I didn't really have writer's block with this one, but the lengths on my chapters were too short for people's liking. They wanted more, which I couldn't not provide in this draft which is why I'm rewriting it. I had it where they repeated going to bed at the end of every chapter, so I had to change that up
WOCA: Why did you enter the awards? Were you expecting to win the prize?
WINNER: I entered the awards to see if this piece of garbage still had it's spark, and 1st place?! I was expecting 3rd or a finalist place, not 1st
WOCA: What is your advice for the future writers?
WINNER: My advice is to keep writing, don't stop, and ignore the haters. Write for you and not your audience, the right one will come around and appreciate what you've wrote
