Forgiving someone isn't easy
It has such a bitter taste in your mouth
And the feeling of being let down creeps on you slowly that you don't even feel it coming
Until you're laying down on your bed at night
Overthinking every single word you said
And wishing you never existed
In this world
And then the process of actually forgiving them comes along
And you don't forgive yourself at first
Cause you're scared
Scared of judgement
What will they say?
Runs through your head
Eating up your soul
Bite by bite
Until you look in the mirror
And tell yourself that you're worth feeling good
That you deserve to feel like you're not guilty
That you deserve forgiveness
From yourself
And others
