I've been standing here for 5 minutes as the rain poured behind me.
Thinking if I should open the blue stained school door. Too scared of what I'll see.
I hesitantly open the door and I was immediately engulfed by the thick atmosphere of the hallway.
Everything looked gray and the loud chattering of the crowd was muffled. My vision seemed blurried as I felt uncomfortable being inside with all the old and new faces.
I forced myself to walk past everything, making sure I maintain a certain distance between everyone. I tried to get away as fast as I could.
Because I felt lonely.
I felt lonely walking in the middle of the crowd. It's like I shouldn't be here and I didn't want to be here. I felt trapped and I appear to be an outcast.
Was I always like this? Don't I like to surround myself with people? Why do I feel lost? Miserable?
Only one person stood out from the rest. A certain redhead shone through the crowd as she yelled my name.
"Augatha!" She ran to me. "I have been looking everywhere for you! Are you alright? I've heard what happened."
"Yeah. I'm fine." I lied.
"Okay." She gave me a light, reassuring smile. "It's almost 8. Let's get to class."
She linked arms with me as we walk through the hallway. Her touch made me feel uncomfortable as if I was too scared of her. But, she's my bestfriend and I never felt this way before.
We walk past classrooms. There were a lot yet, only one will remain clear and fresh from my memories.
207.
I stared at that number as memories of him and I flooded me.
"Dammit!" I yelled as I banged my head on the hard wooden desk inside the empty classroom. "Why do I suck at Math? This should be easy!"
I glanced at the clock and it's already 5:30 pm. I don't want to go home.
The rays of the sun illuminated through the windows as it slowly becomes dusk.
I stared at the paper on my desk filled with numbers, letters and graphs that becomes a foreign language to me. I tried to comprehend this monstrosity.
That poor paper. It doesn't deserve to be filled with stupid numbers that I'll never ever use in my entire life.
The door got my attention as it slowly creaked open revealing him.
"Why are you still here?" He asked me worried. "It's almost 6!"
"I don't want to go home." I complained as I crossed my arms. "And besides, I'm trying to understand math."
His laugh echoed through the classroom as he looked at me with his glistening eyes. It was music to my ears.
Everything was in slow motion as he approached me, looking at me straight in the eyes.
I was lost in his deep brown eyes.
I smiled at him as he sat down next to me. He looked at the paper infront of me and giggled.
"You know, this is basic math." He boasted.
"Well, ofcourse! I'm here face to face with the almighty math wiz Alexander! How could this piece be challenging is such ways? Only a stupid person will get this wrong!" I exlaimed, dramatically. "Oh yeah! I am that stupid person."
