"Let's eat out!"

Angel blinked in confusion at his overly excited friend, he could see Luther jumping from wall to wall in his mind. He looked too excited but he didn't want to overthink it. "Sure, where should we go?" Angel asked, watching the slim boy jump up and down; then finally stop.

"Actually, I don't know," Luther slumped over. A million thoughts went through his head in the first few seconds he stopped jumping.

"Well then, how about we go to a bakery? We have better luck getting breakfast there than at an expensive restaurant," Angel suggested. Luther gave a nod in return.

They walked side by side to the bakery, telling a few stories along the way. The bakery was only a few streets away, giving them enough time to walk around and go to a few parks.

When they arrived to the bakery, they were faced with a challenge: choosing what pastry delight they should have. Luther had the most trouble of all though; he couldn't choose between two of his favourite bakery foods. Croissant with ham and cheese or bagel with ham, tomato and lettuce? Angel could see he was having a mental breakdown over the food choices, so he came up with an idea. He went up to the front desk and smiled sweetly at Luther, who was a little confused to what his best friend was doing. "One ham and cheese croissant, and one bagel with ham, tomato and lettuce, cut in halves." He stated holding one finger up.

"What are you doing Angel?" Luther asked, his head was tilted in confusion making him look like a puppy.

"I'm getting food for us, we will have half of these each," Angel held up two bags with the croissant and bagel inside.

Luther thanked Angel continuously as they paid, and walked out of the bakery and out to an open grass area in the park. They sat down and took their halves of the food and put them on the paper bag that carried them. They watched as children ran around playing together, bringing them both to the times they were little.

At the time, Luther and Angel never knew each other. Luther was quiet and didn't really like big crowds, but as soon as he made a friend he would devote everything to that friend. He never really had friends so to speak, so he never knew how to act when kids his age would come up to him and ask him to play. Luther would just stay silent or get too flustered and run away and the group of kids would just ignore it and go back to playing. His favourite memory of childhood was of him and his mother cooking together for the first time. It wasn't a huge success but his mother ate, and enjoyed, every little part of the meal. Looking back at the memory made the small boy smile, blushes forming on the sides of his cheek bones.

Angel watched as his friend stared off into the distance while blushing. He knew that he was thinking of a great memory of the past so he left Luther to his thoughts. He watched as some children played together in groups, and others in pairs. They played with footballs and hockey sticks; sometimes, the two would see children running with their imagination for play.

After a while of talking and laughing, the two boys finished their food and we're about to go home. They collected all their rubbish and put it in the trash bins that were provided at the park. Before they left the busy area, Luther insisted on buying a ice cream for both of them and Angel, being the softy he is, couldn't refuse. Angel picked vanilla while Luther picked cookie dough, Luther paid as soon as his ice cream was in his grasp.

By the time they reached Luther's house, they had finished their ice creams and needed to wash their fingers due to some drops of melting ice cream hitting their fingers and palms. Once they went inside the house, they quickly washed their hands and packed all of Angel's stuff for his house. "Hey Luther, do you want to hang out at my place for a bit, at least until your mother gets home," asked Angel, holding his hands up by his chest, pressing them together to make it look like a please gesture.
