Chapter 7 - Poisoned Hawk

I was accompanied by Rhian to our hangout room.

Once we arrived there, we saw no one. Okay weird. Where are the others?

"Hey guys?!" I called out but there is no reply. I walked near the rectangular wooden table.

An apple?

Beside it was a letter. I glanced back to Rhian. He moved foward next to me.

I grabbed the letter and read the words. "Dear Brianna, I hop---"

Suddenly the door slammed open, revealing Hawk. "There you guys are! We are all looking for you two-- hey is that an apple?"

Oh no not again. Before I can stop him, he already reached the apple and took a bite.

That was for.... me.... and the thing is we don't know who was it from.

I got shocked when Hawk collapsed. "HAWK!!" We both screamed.

The rest of the team enters and the boys rushed to his aid. I re-read the letter.

"Dear Brianna, I hope you liked my gift. I know you didn't like apples but just give it a try." Then there was another fold. "Its poisoned, you fool. >:)"

Pillow feathers! That apple has poison. Damn I should've known. The person who sent me this must like to see me dead.

"What the frogs happened?!" Joy asked

"We don't know Joy, all of a sudden after he bit the apple he fell unconscious." Rhian explained, worried and nervous at the same time.

"The apple's poisoned." I simply said. I was nonchalant by my looks but I'm not. I'm furious!

"Whatttttt??!!!" - all of them

I just nodded. Whoever who must've done this could be connected to only one person.

We are currently at Snow White's castle, Hawk is on his room with the rest of us.

We are all trying to find a solution since poisoning here in Fairy Tale land is like a form of spell and just needs a breaking weapon.

"Now what?" Rose asks, disappointed. Its been hours now since we've arrived.

"There is only one thing that can wake him up. Like in my story, a true love's kiss can." Snow White suggested.

I then noticed a white paper stuck in one of the mirrors. Speaking of mirrors, even mirror Hawk disappeared.

He would most of the time annoy Hawk or in a cooperative way, suggest ideas. I smiled sadly.

I opened the piece of paper and read it out loud. "A kiss cannot break the spell I placed on her. In case it can, who is her one true love anyways?"

All of them looked at me, surprised.

"I'm sorry professor. I was supposed to be in Hawk's place if I had just eaten the apple."

I can feel tears falling down my cheeks. I am so guilty. It was my fault why where here on this situation.

In the middle of crying, I tried my best to tell them the story. "Look dear, I don't blame you on what is happening to us now. Who that person is will pay double the price for attempting to poison you and making my grandson suffer."

LingLing went over me. In my blurry vision, I can see Rose is now crying comforted by Astoria and Joy.

She sure is a happy-go-lucky girl, and I never seen her cried before. Maybe because Rose liked Hawk for a long time now and both of them (I'm sure) just can't admit it.

I wiped my tears and hugged Ling. I can feel Rose's sorrow. Even if she tried kissing Hawk to revive the prince, it was no use.

The spell has nothing to do with a kiss. "Everything will be fine, Brianna. We just need to find the cure and we will all go to the ball complete." LingLing pats my back.

"Pumpkin seeds!" Rose blurted. "How about we search books that is connected to curses?" she continued.

"Frog-tastic suggestion Rose!" Joy said beaming.

I raised my head. I grinned at the idea. Oh how can I forget that? I walked towards the bookshelves and grabbed books as many I can.
