APARTMENT
I pulled my OPSAT out and sent a message to Fishers. I sent a transmission request.
“Pick up,” I whispered. “Pick up, please pick up. Come on, pick up.”
OPSAT TRANSMISSION REQUEST NOT RESPONDED TO
“No, come on, pick up.” I said and sent the request again. There was no response. I ordered Chinese take-out and had it delivered. I changed out of my tactical suit into a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt. When my Chinese food arrived, I took it and sat down on the couch where I had thrown the multimillion dollar, top secret stealth suit like it was a wet towel and opened a box of lo mien. I drown my sorrows in greasy Chinese food, cheap beer, and a bad football game. I feel asleep on the couch with six empty bottles of beer, and three empty cartoons of Chinese food on the table beside me. I tried calling him one last time. There was no response.

THIRD ECHELON HQ
I was flipping through a file when I saw Ben, Maya and Kimberly walking towards my office. A week had passed and I had the papers on my desk. The intel that would probably make everybody happier. Nathan was staying behind, for now at least.
Ben opened the door and I saw Carly receive an envelope stamped IPCA. I grabbed my phone and hit the button so it would go straight to her desk. Carly was my ‘secretary’. She opened the mail and received notifications from the guards and the front desk about people here to see me. She was also a fully trained Splinter Cell operative and carried a gun around. So needless to say, I wasn’t worried for her safety.
“Yes Director,”
“That IPCA envelope, bring it here immediately,” I said.
“But ma’am, it needs to be scanned first,”
“I know the sender and the channels it was sent through. I also have a feeling I know exactly what it inside. Just bring it in,”
“Alright ma’am,” she stood up and carried the envelope in. I took it and used a knife to open it. I pulled a letter out and two laminated cards slid onto the desk. One of them had the Third Echelon insignia on it and ACCESS CARD written along a magnetic strip with Abigail’s name. The other was Abigail’s ID card. Her most up to date personal picture on it.
“Okay, this may make you guys happier,” I started, setting Abigail’s cards aside. “Fisher just popped up in Istanbul. We have four CIs that place him in Istanbul an hour ago.”
“What about Abby?” Ben asked.
“She quit, she is now working for our sister agency the IPCA, she has a full Splinter Cell output but she no longer works for Third Echelon. Her resignation just arrived. A letter from Commander and Chief Gabriel Logan and both of Abigail’s Third Echelon cards, ID and Access. Even if she wanted to, she wasn’t getting past the gate.”
