"You can be in a relationship for two years and feel nothing; you can be in a relationship for two months and feel everything. Time is not a measure of quality; infatuation, or of love."
"Lyndsay! Troy is throwing a party tonight think you can make it?"
Corinna the head cheerleader asked as I sat down at my desk in history class. Her cotton candy perfume over powering all the boys axe smell.
"I can't, I have work, and have a super early morning, maybe next time." I replied smiling.
I'm not going next time either.
I flipped my notebook over and wrote the date on it.
"Your dad's not gonna shut down the party tonight is he edwards?" troy the Quaterback of the football team asked coming to sit down at the desk next to me.
Flipping his brown almost Justin bieber like hair to the side.
"I don't know, I could give him the address if you'd Like?" I asked he just smirked at me.
Troy has asked me out every year since 8th grade and I haven't said yes once, but being sarcastic as possible is my forte.
"Okay class, can you please tell me why I'm here and not your teacher?" The football coach asked coming into the class. Dress up in school merchandise and track pants, holding his "best coach ever" mug as usual.
We all looked at each other in confusion.
"You're history teacher Mr. Post, has a wife currently in labor and I was called to sub, but guess What?"
"History isn't my favorite subject, I served in the military and still know nothing about most of what you learn about. So we're just gonna chill today, but for my boys on the team, come up to my desk we'll get the notes to excuse you from second period tomorrow for practice done today."
I felt a tap on my shoulder I turned to see Abby Dennis, literally that one girl that most high school movies has, always asking questions, top of the class, bitchy attitude and president of everything.
She always dresses super preppy and as if she had an interview at Harvard coming up.
"Does your mom do cakes at her bakery?"
"Yeah we do." I replied.
"But ones for like anything?"
"Basically." I replied.
"Can I stop by tonight and order one for my sister baby shower?" She asked
It's a bakery of course you can.
"Yeah, we close at 10 tonight." I replied.
"Although money isn't an object, how much for your best chocolate cake, with decorations to the nine?"
"I'm not really sure, I don't really handle prices any more." I replied.
"Ok, well I'll see you tonight then."
"Not going to the party Abby?" Troy asked sitting back down.
"You will never see me at a party thrown by you meat heads." She replied tossing her long brown hair over her shoulder.
Sighing in amusement.
"Oh that's right, you only date teachers and there won't be any of them there to hit on." He replied turning around.
