I woke up earlier than my mom because I promised I'd get started at the bakery pulling all the cookies and doughnuts out.
I quickly showered and threw on some clothes, the bakery didn't have a dress code as long as our hair was up and our approns were on.
So I threw on some light blue jeans shorts, and a white tank top with a blue plaid button up on top.
I slipped on my all black vans.
I grabbed my phone and my lanyard with my keys on it and walked downstairs.
"Hey hunny, I'll be at the bakery in about 20 minutes, your dad and some of the officers are already there." My mom said as she came out of the pantry.
"Ok, mom bye love you."
Emily was just pulling up in her driveway, with her window down.
"Lynn!" I closed my truck door back and walked over.
"What's up buttercup." I replied leaning on her door.
"Some one vandalized the Bakery!" She replied.
"What? How bad?"
"I just drove by and I figured I'd stop and help, but my dad said Some on gradfitied the outside not even with words or anything just red spray paint in random places scribbled all over the front and some of the side." She replied.
"Was my dad there?" I asked.
"Yeah he was."
"I figure he's gonna call mom, can you still come to the bakery to help?" I asked.
"Yeah I'll follow you there."
I hoped into my truck and drove off with Emily behind me.
We got there and parked, there was random red scribbles on the sides and the front of the bakery.
I hopped out and walked over to my dad in the front of the store.
"What are we gonna do?" I asked my dad.
"We'll figure it out, you girls go get ready inside." He replied.
Emily and I unlocked the shop and went in.
"Who would do this?" I asked.

"Hey girls we can turn the open sign on officer Hales got it covered." My dad said coming into the shop.
"What did you guys do?" I aksed.
"Officer Hales got welcome signs to cover the main part they damaged."

After an hour of people coming in buying sweets and coffee it started slowing down.
We started taking down the inside decorations to get back to business as usual.
I pulled a chair up and stood on it to remove the banner and of course me being me, I fell off of the chair, but someone caught me before I hit the floor
"Thank you" I said before even looking at who it was.
I turned and seen a guy with brown hair and the best hazel eyes. He was in a uniform,he was a cop.
"Careful edwards." I turned and seen deputy paul.
"Thanks again". I replied.
"Edwards huh, so your Michaels daughter?" He asked
"Yep that's me, but my name's Lynn." I replied and grabbed the chair to put it back.
"Careful Hales, she's trouble." Deputy Paul replied.
"Wait, you're officer Hales? Thank you so much for covering up the grafitti." I replied.
"I'm doing one better next week, I'm painting the building." He added.
"No way! Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes of course, your parents and you of course are doing a great thing, and great things for the town, I couldn't not do this."
"Well, thank you so much! What day are you painting I'd love to help?"
Another thing to add to my plate.
"Next friday." He replied.
"Ok great I'll be here to help."
"Don't you have church camp then?" Emily asked
"Aren't you a little old for church camp?" Officer Hales asked smirking.
"I'm a camp counselor, but no I leave tomorrow morning." I replied.
"What exactly does the camp do?" He asked.
"Its basic summer camp, bonfires,movie nights, boating, swimming, arts and crafts, stuff like that." I replied.
"I'm just a temporary helper for a couple of days." I added
"That's cool, so I can't expect you're help next friday?" He asked.
"For sure! Tell my dad what time and I'll be here." I replied.
"Would you need a ride?" He asked
I shook my head no "I have a truck." I replied.
"There's only two other vehicles outside right now besides cop cars, a Mazda and jeep, which is yours." He asked.
"The jeep." I replied.
"That's yours?" He asked shocked.
"Yeah, so."
"Isn't that a pretty penny?" He asked
"Its called hard work." I replied smirking.
He raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"Hales, we're out!" My dad said coming into the bakery.
"Alright nice meeting you edwards" he replied smirking.
Did he already catch on that I don't like being called Edwards?
"See you at home girls." My dad replied walked out with the other two officers.
"Did you see the way he looked at you??" Emily asked hopping on the counter in front of me.
"I didn't really pay attention, but why does it matter?."
"Your single!" She replied.
"I'm also only 18, not wanting to 1 date an officer, and 2 date a what was he like 23 year old." I replied.
"And my dad would kill us both. But yes he was good looking, he has nice eyes." I replied wiping down the counters.
