2 The Beginning

A year earlier


"Hannah!!!" My mother yells for me from down stairs.

"Coming mom!" I yell running three flights down the stairs. "Is he here yet!" I nearly yell as I slide across the floor bumping in to Cody.

Cody laughs. If it wasn't for his huge muscles and seven-foot body I probably would have knocked him over.

"Better be careful don't let my dad see you do that." He says as he picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder.

I was tiny compared to Cody. I take that back, I am tiny compared to almost everyone. No one knew why I was so short. Everyone else my age was at least 5'7 most of them even taller than that. Everyone who was the same age always had four or more inches on me at all times. My parents kept telling me one day I would hit a growth spurt, but here I was turning Seventeen tomorrow and have never hit my growth spurt.

A lot of our pack members have question Cody's soon to be leadership when he announced last week I was the upcoming Beta due to my size. Everyone keeps saying I am only becoming Beta due to my relationship to Cody. They seem to think it's because I was raised like I was Cody's little sister. A lot of members have not seen eye to eye with the way Cody and I was raised. A few members have even left the pack, as they thought I should be raised just a child of the Beta, not agreeing with Alpha Carson when he decided to train me with Cody. Giving me the same training a first born in line for Alpha was to receive.

What pack members failed to notice was there was a lot more then Cody and I being so close as to why he chose me to be his Beta. I was an amazing fighter for one. My size did not stop me from anything. I have proved many times I was capable of more than one would think. I have taken out men the size of Cody without even breaking a sweat. What no one knows is I have even taken down Cody in training.

"No dear. He should be here any time. The two of you need to head to training that's why I called you down." She says over her shoulder, as she leaves the room.

"But mom." I call out in a slight wine as Cody carries me out of the pack house. I normally loved going to training, but today I was too excited to see Alpha Mason. Just like Cody he has always been like a protective older brother. Only a much older brother as he was 12 years older then I am. I will admit I was also looking forward to the homemade cookies his mom always baked for me, whenever he came over.

"Let's go for a run" I beg Cody, as I jump up and down in excitement, full of energy.

"How can you have so much energy after 2 hours of training." He says as he shakes his head laughing at my energy.

"Just a quick run home." I beg. "It will be faster. Mason is probably there already. "
I start striping my clothes off as I head out the door, not letting him have a chance to say no. I drop my clothes and quickly shift. Picking them up gently in my mouth as I start at a slow running pace, to allow Cody to catch up to me. Once he caught up I took off in a run, smiling as he chased me. Suddenly I caught a sniff of the most amazing sweet smell causing me to come to a dead halt. Cody used that time to tackle me playfully to the ground. I quickly dropped my cloths from my mouth as we start rolling around nipping at each other. My snow-white wolf looked like a pup compared to his massive midnight black wolf as we played. I grab a big chunk of his fur on the back of his neck, pulling at his fur. He rolls me over, so he is on top and playfully nips at me, accidently getting some of my skin causing me to let out a loud whimper.

We both come to a stop as a Beautiful large brown wolf comes running towards us growling, ready to leap in and attack at any moment. Cody moves quickly so he is in between the other wolf and me. He lets out a loud growl as he moves closer to the strange beautiful wolf. Cody and the other stare each other down, both waiting for the other to attack.

'CHASE! STOP!!!!' I mind link Cody speaking directly to his wolf chase, as I move around him so I'm in between him and the other wolf. Cody growls at me, as he nudges me out of the way. The other wolf lets out a roar as he leaps towards Cody. Cody dodges his attack, getting ready to pounce and attack the other wolf.

"STOP!!" I yell after I had quickly shifted. I run and stand between the two of them. "Now!" I demand as neither one stand down.

'Chase he won't hurt me' I mind link him. 'Please stand down.'

'How do you know that?'

'I think he is my mate'

Chase nods as he slowly backs up, not taking his eyes off the chocolate wolf. He made it known he still did not trust the other wolf. He watches as the wolf moves close to me. Nudging my hand gently, sending shocks down my spine. I smile as he wraps his body around me, as he purrs. I start giggling as the wolf licks my hand. Once Cody knows its safe to do so, he shifts. Getting dressed, as he tosses my clothes gently at me. I get dressed as the wolf moves away and shifts.

I take a step back trying to keep Harmony my wolf from jumping on him. I lick my lips as I stare at his naked body. The things my wolf and I felt we needed to do to him was almost uncontrollable.

Please Harmony begs as I continue to fight her off. Ours. She purrs as our eyes lock with his. I want him now. We stare at him not sure what we should say. Oh my!!! He just smiled at us!!! We both purr happily.

"I'm Dante" he smiles. Cody tosses a pair of basketball shorts at him as he moves next to me, still un sure of Dante. Dante smiles as he puts the shorts on.

Dante. My wolf purrs. I like the sound of that. I smile. Harmony was right it does have a lovely ring to it.

"What is your name beautiful?" He asks with a stunning smile.

"I'm......." I pause forgetting my name.

HANNAH!!!!!!!!!!!! My wolf yells at me.

"Hannah." I say as smooth as I can. I can't believe I forgot my own name.
