Breathless, I tilted my head up carefully, only to have my eyes meet his once more. I could barely even feel my legs anymore, needless to say my hands as well. All I could feel was the warmth of his body, the wind blowing against my face and my blood rushing through my veins, constantly asking me to hang on.
"Stop... It won't..work. Just promise..me to keep me safe... There's a..reverse..." I said, hoping he heard me. It was as soft as a whisper. Looking into his eyes, I was sure he definitely heard me. I closed my eyes, losing consciousness almost immediately, allowing it to overtake me.
-
"One." A voice not very deep mumbled.
It was a forest. The tall trees stood, taller than the three who were standing in an empty ground surrounded by nothing but trees. They were in fighting stance, looking around, carefully.
Not long after, a flash of blue rushed passed their eyes. The two turned behind, seeing their teammate collapsed on the ground. One stared at his team mate in fear and horror.
"Don't lose focus! You'll-" Was all he heard before another flash of blue appeared as his other team mate collapsed.
"Two." The same voice mumbled, only loud enough for the last person to hear.
He stood there, his legs were shaking. Tears were forming from the tips of his eyes. He threw two scrolls out.
"L-Let me go... Please!"To his disappointment and sorrow, the blue flash burst in front of his eyes again just as his life flash in front of his eyes.
"Three." The voice said again. A yellow haired girl appearing in front of the fallen bodies. She casually brushed off dust from her hands before picking up the two scrolls. She stared at them for a second. Then, she stuck her hand into her pocket, taking out a scroll, sealing the three bodies inside. She teleported off immediately after.
"Done." The yellow haired girl said, throwing the two scrolls over to man who was sitting on a chair, way bigger than his own size. He looked as if he would be in his mid-thirties. He had blonde hair much lighter than the girl's. He caught both scrolls with only one hand, opening them before closing each one, placing it aside.
"How's the boy doing?" He said, looking into the girl's bored and dull eyes.
"Should be doing chores." She replied lazily.
"Mhm." The man replied as he clasped his hand together, allowing silence to fall upon them. The girl immediately knew what he wanted to say despite no words being communicated between them. A blue flash flew across again, allowing the girl to disappear from the room.
Meanwhile, a bright blue hue flashed across in the Hokage's office. It shocked him since it was sudden, causing a few papers to fall on the ground. In front of his table stood the girl.
"Ah, Ki- I mean Aki, is there anything you need?" The Third Hokage said calmly as he slowly picked up the papers that fell on the ground.
"Where is he?" Aki spoke in an impatient tone, slightly annoyed by the fact that she had to be doing this. She never liked formalities. She found it unnecessary and troublesome.
"On a C-ranked mission, in the Land of Waves." The Third Hokage said, placing the papers on the table with a pastel yellow paperweight on top, ensuring they don't fly off again. He sat down with his hand clasped, looking at her curiously.
She didn't wait further before teleporting back to the man, reporting in the information she gathered. The man closed his eyes for a few minutes, making simple hand signs. The surrounding atmosphere turning colder second by second.
"Go. Help the team, you will be awarded. You're feeling it now, aren't you?" The man said, slowly opening his light green eyes. By the time he said, she had already felt it, the coursing of blood through her veins.
