Prologue

Pidge's P.O.V
"You are gonna have to pump those little legs of yours faster if you ever want to catch up with me!" Matt said as he ran past me. "Be careful about you wish for slow poke!" I said as I started to gain on him. Matt had challenged me to a race back to his dorm and I never back down from a challenge. I pushed the glasses my brother recently gave to me further up the bridge of my nose and successfully passed him. Unfortunately I ran into something that knocked me down.

"Hey there are you okay?!" I looked up to where the deep voice was coming from only to be faced with beautiful grey eyes filled with concern. "Umm yeah I'm fine sorry about running into you. I guess I wasn't really paying attention." I said still staring into his eyes. "It's okay! I'm just glad you didn't get hurt." He said chuckling as he handed me his big hand to help me up. I grabbed his hand which basically engulfed mine since my hand is so tiny.

"Looks like I might need to introduce you two." Matt said his voice startled me and I realized he must have been there the whole time. "So Katie this is going to be the famous pilot of the Kerberos mission Mr. Takashi Shirogane." Matt said doing jazz hands next to the mans face while then moving on to put his arm around my shoulders. "And Shiro this is my genius little sister Katie!" " Nice to finally meet you, Matt talks about you all the time." Shiro said with a warm smile that made my heart flutter. "Same to you." I manage to squeak out, trying to keep my cool. "Well we have a race to finish see you later Shiro!" Matt said as he started to rush off. "Hey that's not fair you can't have a head start!" I yelled running after him, but I swore I could hear Shiro chuckling behind me.
Shiro's P.O.V
It's only three days before the Kerberos mission and I'm starting to freak out. What if something goes terribly wrong and the ship doesn't take off or I somehow screw up and the ship crashes!?! My thoughts were interrupted by someone knocking on my dorm room door and a short figure came in.

"Hey, Matt I just wanted to spend some more ti- oh my god I'm so sorry I thought Matt was in here, but I guess it makes sense that you are here too since you do dorm with him and I just kinda forgot that you would be here..." The small girl I soon realized was Katie and she had started rambling so fast, that I couldn't keep up with her.

I started sitting up from my bed when I saw her blushing slightly. I looked down and I remembered that only had a pair of grey sweatpants on and no shirt. I started lightly blushing too, but I had to stop her rambling.

"Katie you're fine, don't worry about it" I said trying to calm her down. She looked up from her feet with a relived smile on her face. "Well when you do see Matt tell him that I'm looking for him, okay?" Katie said turning around to exit the room. "Will do ma'am." She turned her head just as she was leaving and looked straight into my eyes. "You better bring my father and brother back safely or so help me I will come up to space myself and all hell will break lose." Katie said with a smug smirk on her face. "I promise I will bring them safe and sound for you, Katie" I said with a smirk of my own appearing on my face. And with that she left the room, quietly closing the door. I swear I heard a cute little giggle on the other side of the door.
