~It's been a couple months after they found the blue lion and became paladins~
Pidge's P.O.V
I stretched out my arms and continued working on my project. It was getting pretty late, but I was determined to finish this project so I decided against going to bed. I thought I heard footsteps behind me, but I pushed that thought away thinking I was just delirious from the lack of sleep. Suddenly I felt something warm on my shoulder.
"Pidge what are you doing up this late?" a soft, deep voice said next to my ear. I jumped up in surprise and dropped the tool that was in my hand. "Jesus Shiro you scared me!" I said turning around in my chair to glare at him. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you." he said while laughing a bit. "Well you did and I'm up this late because I'm working on a very special project." I said while leaning down to pick up the tool that I dropped. "As a true apology for scaring you half to death I can try and help you with your project." he said while smiling warmly at me.
God how can I stay mad at him when he gives me such a warm smile like that. "Fine you can help, but be prepared to stay up the rest of the night." I said while going back to tinkering with my project. "Challenge accepted." he said while pulling up a chair to sit down in.
We worked in comfortable silence while Shiro handed me the tools I asked for and I continued to mess with the contraption. "So what exactly is this thing?" Shiro asked while raising one of his dark eyebrows at me. "It's Rover 2.0!" I said slightly jumping up and down in my chair with excitement. "Really? That's awesome, I know how much the first Rover meant to you and I'm glad you get to have your little buddy back." he said. My head can never really wrap around the fact at how kind Shiro can be. We continued making small talk until I felt my eyelids get uncomfortably heavy and before I knew it I saw everything get dark.Shiro's P.O.V
Suddenly Pidge slowly slumped forward and set her head on the table. I stared at her for a couple of seconds before realizing that she just passed out from exhaustion. I softly chuckled to myself as I heard her lightly snoring. I picked her up as gently as I could from her chair and walked out of the Green lion's hanger. As I walked down the hallway to her room I noticed that she had put her arms around my neck and started to snuggle into my chest. I felt a blush forming on my face and looked down at her peaceful face. She's so cute when she's sleeping I thought to myself, but quickly pushed it away because it's unprofessional to think that way. Pidge is my teammate after all and she probably doesn't even think of me in that way.
As I made it to her room the mechanical door slid open and I entered her room. Pidge's room is super messy and I tried not to step on the random objects that littered the floor. I pulled the covers back and carefully set Pidge down while I pulled the covers back up to cover her. I gently took her glasses off and set them in a clear area in her room. I turned back around to look at her before I left and I noticed she had adorable little freckles that scattered across her nose. I have to leave her room before I became a blushing mess again I thought to myself as I headed to the door.
Just as I was about to exit I heard a soft voice. "Thank you Takashi" Pidge said as she snuggled into her bed more. "Anytime Katie and good night." I said but I realized she was already asleep again. I left her room with a small smile on my face and my heart beating a little faster because she had called me by my real name.
