"Marius! I'm home!" you sang as you opened the door to your home.

"Did you get me my seaweed?" he demanded.

"Hello to you too." You grumbled under our breath but chucked a packet of seaweed at him anyways.

"Thanks (y/n)!"

"I'm going to need your magic in a bit." You told him as you rustled through your backpack to find the papers with the spell.

"What? Why?" Marius demanded as he nommed on seaweed.

"Because I found the spell." You told him simply and searched for your tin of chalk.

"You'll burn the house down!" Marius answered without missing a beat, "or worse! You'll burn me! Or drown me!"

"I thought you were a water demon?" you asked in confusion and continued to search for the tin. Where did you put it? "Can water demons even drown?"

"Normally not, but in the hands of you anything is possible!" he retorted.

You scoffed, "gee thanks Marius. I can tell you really missed me." You grumbled sarcastically. You found the tin and squatted down to to draw out the spell circle. It was a very complicated spell. You had to admit, you've never tried a spell this complicated, and it almost scared you. Especially because you were doing it on yourself.

You consulted the paper multiple times. One giant circle with multiple overlapping circles coming into the center. Lines connected random points of the circles to each other. Triangles sprouted from random points of the symbol and ooblong blobs were in more places. It took awhile, but you finally finished drawing it out.

You stood up and took a look at your work. It looked good, it was as close to the book as you were ever going to get it. You clapped your hands to try and remove the gritty chalk dust and set the tin down. "Are you ready Marius?" you asked eagerly.

"No!" he whined and settled into his bowl even more, "I'm fat with seaweed. You can't do it now!"

"This'll get me closer to finding what I truly want." You sang as a reminder of your deal with the blue water demon.

"Ugh, fine." He groaned and you walked over to his bowl, "but only because I want this to be over as soon as possible."

You held out a hand for Marius to jump on, "I wouldn't expect anything different." He scoffed and jumped into your hand. You then walked back over to your table where you had put the spell and re-read the instructions. "Okay, this is going to be challenging."

"Oh gosh we're going to die, aren't we." Marius groaned.

"Alright Marius, lending me some of your magic would be great right about now." You told him. You were standing on the circle with your eyes closed. In your left hand was Marius and your right hand was in front of you forming a hand symbol.

"If I lend you my magic will we explode?"

"Marius! The spell's already started! If you don't lend me your magic right now we will explode!" you shouted.

"Alright alright!" he surrendered and grew in size. Ribbons of water seemed to grow from him and surround him in a whirlwind. The ribbons of water then departed from the whirlwind and snaked up your arm until it reached your chest where it wrapped itself around your chest.

You started to chant the incantation and your right hand started to go through a series of hand symbols. You didn't see this because your eyes were shut, but a light sprang up from the symbol you drew. It was as if two ribbons of light, white and black rose from the ground and it too wrapped itself around you. You shouted the last line of the incantation and shot your arm to the right side as far as it could go and the light reached its peak before it died down and you collapsed to the ground.

"Hey (y/n)!" Marius indignantly shouted from the ground where you had dropped him, "that wasn't very nice!" when you didn't respond he started to sound worried, "hey (y/n)." He hopped over to your face, (y/n)!" he shouted and slapped your cheek.

You didn't respond.
