Chapter 6: Getting To Know You
Lucy's POV:
As I sat on the swing set, I wondered how today will go.
Im nervous.
Gosh, i could freaking die right now.
What if Donald hates me completely?
I don't know him well.
I barely met him this morning.
My mom however, she has been stalking Donald and his family for ever.
Honestly, I think she's crazy.
My bad for thinking that stalking people isn't right.
I want to go home. Hide in my room forever. Never come out.
Im scared of the world. Of what will happen today.
"Lucy?"
Here we go.
I stand up.
"Donald."
"Lucy."
He walks towards me.
"You came..." As soon as i say that, i wish could take it back.
"Yeah, I'm surprised too..." He says with a chuckle.
I smile.
"So..." He starts.
"So?" I mutter.
"How was your day?" He asks.
"I don't know yet." I say.
Sounds stupid, i know.
It's just, I literally don't know. This will determine if my day was good. The day is still not over, and if things go bad here, i know i will do something stupid tonight.
"Oh?" He says.
"What happened to your hand?" He reaches out to touch my hand.
I hide it behind my back.
"Nothing." I say quietly.
He frowns.
"Listen, I'm trying so hard to connect with you, but you're so stubborn. So I'm going to go straight to my point." He takes a deep breath. "Who are you? Why did you leave a creepy video on my phone? Why do you think I know your name? Why are you acting so different from this morning?"
I look down, all of my thoughts everywhere.
"Answer me." He half whispers.
"I... I... I can't." I say softly.
"Why?" He asks.
"I don't know." I whisper softly.
He sighs.
"I came here for answers, and that's what I want to get answers." He almost yells.
I take a deep breath.
"Ask away." say calmly.
"What the heck are bionics?" He asks, his tone showing the fact that he's desperate.
