***Karen's P.O.V***
Alex wasted no time in grabbing a pair of clothes for the day and rushing into the bathroom for a nice, long shower. "Don't use all the hot water!" Amanda called out to her as she slammed the door and locked it.
"Well, I guess we should get started on cleaning," I concluded, eyeing the cabin. The kitchen was the worst; globs of different fruits littered the counter tops and floor. Surprisingly, the walls and seats in the lounge room were clean enough where we wouldn't have to do too much work with them. But our TV guide was ruined beyond repair. I picked it up and I bet that if I attempted to squeeze it, a bunch of juice would come seeping from the pages.
"We need a new TV guide!" I yelled out even though this was a very small cabin. I was famous among my friends for being loud.
"And a broom!" Lauren piped up, holding up a rainbow colored brrom stick. "If I try to sweep the floor with this, it'll be messier than it is right now." Amanda examined the two things and then sighed.
"Why am I friends with you people? You're so crazy?" she said playfully.
"Oh, you know you love us!" I retorted, grinning like a fool.
"That's true. Now how about if- Fizzy, what are you doing!" Amanda broke off mid-sentence and stared at the scene in front of her. Lauren and I rushed over and I couldn't help myself from cracking up at Izzy's craziness. She was laying in the middle of the kitchen and making floor angels. She stared up at Amanda with an innocent look as Amanda scowled and tried to get her off the floor.
"Oh God, I don't want to be here for the next few minutes. It's gonna be chaotic,' I exclaimed so low that only Lauren would hear. She nodded, agreeing.
"Follow my lead. Amanda, we're going to go exchange the broom and TV guide at the main building. Bye," she said quickly, tugging my arm and racing to the front door.
"Dressed like that! No! I know this is just an attempt to get away from helping me with this nutball!" Amanda called out as we slammed the door and ran away from the cabin. We ran for a few minutes before stopping because we couldn't control our laughter.
"Did you see Amanda's face when we said we were gonna go?" Lauren asked me, tears beginning to form in her eyes from all the laughing we were doing.
"Yup! I feel bad for Fizzy. Now she's going to have to face Panda's wrath!" I giggled again as we walked up the stairs leading to the main building. Lauren reached out her hand to open the door, but at that moment, someone from the inside had decided to open it at the same time.
A boy who looked about our age stood there. He had a hood pulled over his head and dark sunglasses covering his eyes, but judging by the little "o" shape his mouth made, I could tell he was surprised to see two fruit-covered girls waiting outside. He got over the shock and smiled, politely stepping inside to grant us entry first. Lauren smiled back and I did the same, trying to get a closer look at the person.
He had a huge crowd behind him, all of whom were staring at me and Lauren. They were all wearing sunglasses inside, which I found a little strange. I meant to study them more, but all the attention was getting to me so I averted my eyes to my feet, feeling my face turn scarlett from all the attention.
I heard the door close, and glanced behind me to find that they had left the building. I started to breathe evenly again just as the lady who worked there emerged from a door behind the counter. She did a little double take when she saw us, her eyes roaming over our stained clothing and hair, and finally resting on the destroyed broom and guide. Her eyes relaxed and then she started to do something I least expected. She started laughing.
