He had learnt in science class, that like poles repel and unlike poles attract.
But that wasn't his case, he knew.
He belonged to that population of people, that minority, those few.
Yes he was a homosexual, he was gay.
He tried hard to escape from the reality and change it, but sadly, there wasn't a way.
He finally had to live his life accepting himself the way he was, a life to live on acceptance.
Trying to accept himself, and to get accepted by a society where there was no end to all the ignorance.
He knew that he couldn't accept this reality in front of the society, for ridicule was all that he would face.
And if he did ever accept the reality, along with him, his family too would have to face mean comments and disgrace.
He didn't have the guts to tell his parents, and it was indeed difficult to walk up to them and say:
"Mom and Dad, I think we should talk on this, because I think I'm gay.''
He was living his life, though not exactly "living'' it, afraid that his secret would be out.
Scared, afraid and panic clouded his mind, and ''will the society accept me?'' his mind continues to doubt
In spite of all this, there remains hope that one day he will be able to live freely, without any guilt or shame, which is today gnawing the insides of his heart.
Let us be humane and accepting, and of our society, let us make them a part.
