prologue

jeon nara a girl who never wanted to be popular, ended up that way.

nara had a life many wished to have, she was from a rich background with loving parents, she had amazing grades and she was unexplainably beautiful. at school she was the ideal student any teacher could wish for; she never forgot to hand in her homework on time and she always did the work she was given, although being rich she was never spoilt nor was she arrogant about it, she was a humble child who didn't like attention.

nara had a couple friends who she trusted dearly ever since she was young, they were hwang hyunjin and seo changbin. ever since they were young, they had always been inseparable until high school appeared; they ended up in different homerooms and classes yet they managed to spend every recess together irrespective of any situation.

it was a sublime autumn morning when the three friends entered the dreaded school their parents had enrolled them into, they spared each other a glance before parting ways towards their different homerooms. 45a mr jung nara had sighed before entering, she hated meeting new people; her reasoning was that many people had used her due to her riches, however she attempted to be optimistic and hoped to at least make one new friend today.

nara was ever so terrified from the second she walked into the room; when she entered the room, everyone suddenly stopped talking to let their eyes find their way towards her petite figure as she bowed and said hello. many boys began to cat call her and girls began to invite her into their friend circle however nara's eyes fixated on the one boy sat in the corner of the room, he was sat there with his head burrowed into a book of his choice to which he seemed to enjoy, her eyes beamed in awe at the boy, she decided that she'd try and befriend him before first day ended, she headed towards the seat beside his desk and beamingly introduced herself 'hi! i'm jeon nara, i hope we can be friends'

the boy reluctantly pulled his head away from his book and pushed his glasses up before looking at her and nodding his head at nara before returning to the literature classic he was in the process of reading.

their first encounter remains in nara's mind as she still wishes to befriend him.
