Touched by Darkness

Chapter 2

I spend the rest of my day hiding from Theo and staying out of Mandys way, and as the final bell rings i head for the parking lot and find Tilly standing next to my shinny red Jeep. 

'Did you hear?' she asks me hopping from foot to foot. I sware she is almost bouncing.

'Hear what?' I reply searching my bag for the keys to unlock the car. I can tell that Tilly is dying to tell me and that whatever it is, its going to be good.

'Well after lunch' she begins ' Dillon and I were headed to our next class when we hear Mandy screaming at Theo' 

I nod getting into the car.

'Well .. anyway turns out Theo told Mandy that she isnt the girl for him.. soooo she hit him hard and stormed off yelling that they will be over when she tells him not the other way around' Tilly eyes me slyly with a look of satisfaction on her face and i can feel my cheeks flame.

I look out over the parking lot and my eyes find Theo who is staring at me a slight smile playing on his lips as I hear his voice in my head.

' you heard about earlier i take it ? come to the party we really need to talk' 

I shake my head slightly and look at Tilly. 

' I know what your thinking Tills and just dont Okay ? I dont want Mandys leftovers' 

We head out the parking lot and I drop Tilly at her house, then pull into my own driveway. I can see Grandma Stars car parked next to Moms. I literally jump out of the Jeep and run inside yelling.

'GRANDMA?? ' 

I round the corner into the Den and see grandma sitting there with her spell book open. A huge smile on her face as she opens her arms too me. 

'Raven sweetheart how are you?'

I choke at the use of my first name. No-one calls me Raven here, everyone uses my middle name. Mom and Dad think its safer for me. I have no idea what they are protecting me from but whatever it is thats why the decided to main stream here and leave Fornica. 

I hug Grandma close and smile.

' I missed you grandma, and im glad your here. I need to ask you something and i know Mom wont answer for me' 

Grandma looks at me and smiles slightly.

'Anything sweetheart' she says.

'Grandma' I begin ' how do you know when you find your Blood Mate? And what happens if you cant be with them because I think i've found mine'

I can tell i've shocked her and this wasnt the question she was expecting. Grandma looks at me and she has gone deathly pale.

'Its not possible' she whispers at me.

'Why?' I ask 

' They moved so he wouldnt find you, you have to understand sweetheart, things where we're from are different to how things are here. If your father knew that they had followed you here ...' she trails off and looks at me knowing she has said too much. But I know she's going to answer my questions anyway.

' You'll know that he is your Blood Mate because you will be able to communicate without speaking aloud, you'd be able to find each other in a filled football stadium and his blood will call yours and yours will call to his. If you cant be with him you will always feel like part of you is missing, your magic wont work properly and neither will his.' 

I nod and look down, my hair falling over my face. I feel Grandma tuck my hair behind my ear and she tilts my head up. Looking into my eyes she says something that shocks me to my core. 

'Vampires arn't always bad and  he is your Blood Mate, he wont let anyone or anything hurt you. The Darkness family is as old and as powerful as our own.' 

'No grandma, my Blood Mates last name is Dark' but even as I say it everything falls into place. Theo's family are using a different name just like my own family. But who or what are they protecting Theo from.

'Theodore will always protect you' says Grandma going back to her spell book and I know that our chat is finished.

I head up to my room in shock. I hadnt told Grandma who my Blood Mate was so how did she know? I flop onto my bed and close my eyes trying to make sense of everything. My Blood Mate is a Vampire from the most powerful Vamp family in Fornica and I am a Witch from the most powerful Witch family. This is going to cause so many problems. I just hope Theo can help me figure out away to sort this out. 

I fall asleep and dream of blue flashing eyes and dark hair. 

THEO my blood calls to his and suddenly I can feel him there next to me. I sleep like a baby.
