Honest

I walked up to my mother's door and knocked. It was a lot of noise in there.

"Honest. Hey." She opened the door and she had a black eye. I pushed pass her and walked in.

"Where my kids?" Some man was standing in the middle of the floor with a smirk on his face.

"You here to play." He said.

"Fuck you!" I screamed. "Where my kids!" I yelled at my mother.

"Honest. I didn't know he was coming here."

I ignored her and ran upstairs ignoring her screams.

"TJ. Ty." I called looking in the guest room. I had tears coming down my face because I didn't know if they were ok. I should have never believed her. She didn't change one bit.

I looked under the bed and they wasn't there.

"What you doing up here cutie." I jumped and turned around. It was the man. Fuck I left my piece home.

"You better back the fuck up." I said backing up to the closet.

"Why should I." He stood in front of me and I kicked his manhood. He fell to the ground.

I opened the closet and they were sitting in the corner and TJ had his arms wrapped around Ty.

"Don't hurt my brother please." TJ said with his eyes closed.

"TJ it's me baby. Come on." I reached for him and he opened his eyes.

"Mommy." They both yelled coming into my arms.

"Come on." I picked them up and was about to walk out the door when a punch came in contact with my face. I stumbled back.

"You a little bitch." The man growled.

"Take your brother downstairs TJ." I said putting them down. TJ grabbed his hand. "Run ok. And I'll be there." They ran and I backed up to the dresser that had a lamp on it. He charged at me and I picked up the lamp and shattered it on his head. He fell and I quickly rushed downstairs.

"Honest I'm so sorry." I picked up my kids who were crying their eyes out.

"Fuck you. Don't ever call me." I left and placed them in the car. My face was killing me. I looked through the mirror and I had a black eye.

I carried a sleeping Ty and TJ in the house. I locked the door behind me and went up to my room. I took their shoes off and laid them in my bed. I went downstairs to get some ice and put in a zip lock bag. I carried it upstairs and wrapped it in a hand towel. I took my shoes off and laid down next to my babies. Silent tears fell as I thought all this was my fault trusting that my mother changed. I shouldn't have given her a second chance I guess everyone doesn't deserve one.

I woke up to movement around the room. I looked on the bed and Ty and TJ were laying ontop of eachother. I looked around the room and Profit was undressing. He turned around and looked at me. He didn't say nothing but his face expression did. I looked away and laid back down.

"Honest what happened to your face." I turned around and he touched it. I winced, it was still sore.

"I went to go pick up the kids." I said as tears began to fall. "It's my fault. I'm a bad mother." I cried.

"Baby look at me." I looked at him.

"You're a great mother. You're nothing like your mother. You would never put your kids in danger intentionally. You love those two little boys more than anything. Probably more than yourself, don't beat yourself up." He whipped my tears away. He got in the bed and I laid my head on his shoulder in between his neck.

"Who did that?" He had his arm wrapped around my back and I had my leg in between his.

"Some man that was there with my mother. They were hiding in the closet when I found them. They were crying and TJ was trying to protect Ty." I said. "What if I didn't get there when I did. I don't know what I would've done if he touched them."

"He didn't and they're fine. Don't worry about him he's going to get handled." He kissed my forehead.

"I love you Travis."

"I love you too."
