"Do you think there will be perfect princes?" Evie wonders out loud, a dreamy look on her face. You start laughing out of control and she glares at you.

"Sorry." You manage to apologize and she sighs.

"What's so funny?" You shrug.

"Nothing, E. Just that no one's perfect." You pause before continuing. "Why do you need a prince? You should look for someone to actually care about." Evie nods, glancing at you and Carlos.

"Like you two?" You blush slightly, Carlos' arms wrapped around you, making you nod.

"Yeah, actually." Evie smiles lightly before sighing.

"But I'm the daughter of the Evil Queen. There isn't room for caring about people." At this, you pull out of Carlos' grasp.

"Right, and you know who I'm the daughter of. I learned to be my own person, you can do it too." Mal and Jay scoff and you ignore them. Evie nods and smiles at you and you lean against Carlos again. We get to the school and Carlos and Jay are fighting over a cloth before Fairy Godmother tells them to leave it.

When Evie introduces herself to Prince Ben and the girl interrupts, Mal and Jay hold you back from her.

"I'd watch your mouth if I were you." You growl and Fairy Godmother is quick to change the subject.

"Thanks, (Y/N)." You smile at Evie.

"You'd be a better princess than she could even think about. Okay?" Evie laughs and you put an arm around her shoulders.

"Besides," You whisper quietly. "You're prettier and obviously a lot more fun." Mal puts an arm over your shoulders and agrees. You're all friends, and friends are important. At least they are to the five of you.
