"ROXANNA, WAKE UP!"
I woke up to the sound of my annoying sister. The sun drained my eyes as I opened them. Wait, if the sun is that bright, IT MUST BE LATE. I ran to the bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth and hair and ran out. My sister was already walking out the door.
"Roxanna, why are you in your pajamas?"
"Crap"
I ran into my room and grabbed random clothes out of my closet. I was still putting my shirt on when I walked out of my room. I walked out just to see her. Yajaira. What was this bitch doing here?
"Rox, let me explain"
"You have no explaining to do"
"Please Roxanna. It wasn't what it looked like"
"So, I didn't walk in on you hooking up with my boyfriend? 'Cause it really seemed like it"
"Ok so maybe it was what it looks like, but you have to forgive me"
"Get the fuck out of my face, Yajaira"
I stormed out of the door. I felt a lump in my throat. I tried not to think about Friday. The day my life fell apart. Tears started trickling down my face. I wiped them off. "You have to stay strong, Rox", I told myself. "No bitch or man whore is going to bring you down. Right?" I approached Sparks High as I tried to bottle up my feelings. I've done it for so many years, how hard could it be?
"Rox, it's the last day!"
I felt relieved to see Marlene. My best friend since 5th grade. I felt bad. Like really bad. I had gotten an acceptance letter from SCSU a week earlier. I was planning on going. The thing is I got an acceptance letter to TMCC, where Marlene was going. I hadn't decided where I wanted to go yet.
"Hellooooooooo?"
"Oh hi"
"Rox is there something wrong?"
"No, we should go inside"
The school day was longer than expected. Fortunately, that gave me time to think about a well thought out plan on how to tell Marlene about the college thing.
"Hey Marlene, so I wanted to know if you wanted to come over?"
" yeah sure, will your sisters be there?"
" no, but the reason I wanted you to come over was to tell you something reallyyyyyyy important"
"Sure I'll be there"
I felt sick. I partly thought it was because I really wanted to go to SCSU and partly because my sisters gave me the stomach flu. I heard knocking on the door. It was finally time I had to tell Marlene I was moving to LA.
