There were rats everywhere. My apartment was infested with rats. I told you. When there's a moment something bad happens.
"Fuck!" I yelled. Did I care if the neighbors heard me? No.
"What am I going to do?" I thought. I decided to call an exterminator. He took forever to come. 30 whole minutes.
"What's the problem?"
I pointed to the door.
"Wow, this'll take around a month to get rid of all of the rats"
A month?! Where was I going to stay? I had no money, so I couldn't stay at a hotel. My life is falling apart. When in doubt, call someone.
"This is Lupita, please leave a message after the beep"
Ugh. She wasn't answering. My last resort was to call Adym.
"Hi Adym"
"Hey"
"I have a tiny problem" My voice was shaking
"Problem?"
"Um yeah. You know how I told you about that tiny mouse problem at my apartment?"
"Yeah"
"Well um, it's gotten bigger and I can't stay there anymore"
"What do you mean?"
"My house is infested with maybe about a hundred rats. And I have nowhere to stay"
"A hundred rats?"
"Yup"
"With nowhere to stay?"
"Seems like it"
"You can stay at my place if you want"
"Thanks. I'll be there in a bit"
I tried to walk through all of the rats, but it was almost impossible. I packed a month worth of clothing and I left that horrible place.
"There she is"
"The one and only"
We walked into his house. His friends were at his house. Crap.
"This is Roxanna. Roxanna this is Sawyer and this is Langie"
I waved at both of them.
"She's gonna be staying with us for a while"
"Where is she gonna sleep?" Sawyer asked.
"All of the rooms are taken" Langie said
"Unless she stays with you, Adym"
We both looked at each other.
"I can go to a hotel" I said as I exited the house.
I was walking in the middle of the night. I felt like I was drowning. Like there was no escape from all of my stupid problems. I still had 70 dollars. I could probably check into a hotel for a night while I thought about what I was going to do.
"Roxanna, wait!"
It was Adym. I wasn't going to go back.
"You shouldn't try to convince me to go back. I'm not sleeping in your room, Adym"
"Pleaseeeeee"
"No"
"I'm not leaving until you say yes"
"If I say yes, will you leave me alone?"
"Yes"
"Fine, I'll go" I said with frustration.
We walked back to his house and I started to unpack.
"I'll sleep on the floor" I said.
"I'm not going to let you sleep on the floor"
"So where am I going to sleep? With you?"
"Why not?"
"I'm not sleeping in the same bed as you, Adym. End of discussion"
Suddenly he grabbed me and put me on the bed. And then he kissed me. I quickly pulled away.
"Are you sure?"
"After what just happened, I'm 1000% sure"
"That didn't help?"
"Doesn't look like it"
"I'm not letting you sleep on the floor, Rox"
"You don't have to let me. I'm doing it anyways."
"Suit yourself. There are rats under there"
"Rats?"
I quickly climbed on the bed. After my rat infestation, I never wanted to see a rat ever again.
"Changed your mind?" Adym said with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes and then went to sleep.
