It felt good to be back in LA. I had finally purchased my apartment after about a week of waiting. Adym still hadn't contacted me. That was one of the minor issues though. I had bigger ones. For one my apartment had rats. Yes, rats. Two, I still had no car. So, I was basically spending all of my money on Uber's and Taxis. And last, but not least, I was broke. And when you're broke, you have to get a job. So, I called a bunch of places that were hiring and one had finally called me back.
"Hello?" I said. My voice was shaking.
"Is this Roxanna Mendez?"
"You're speaking to her"
"Hi, you're interview is scheduled at 3:00 pm today, is that okay for you?"
"Yes of course. I'll be there"
"Thank you"
That was the most nerve wrecking call. I was excited and anxious. Mostly worried though. I just decided to take nap, how much time could it take?
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was from Adym. Oh, Adym.
"Hello?"
"Hi Adym"
"So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?"
"Depends, what time?"
"Around 5"
"Send me your address and I'll be there"
"No need, I'll pick you up"
"Wait, but you don't know where I-"
He hung up. What an ass. I checked the time. It was 2 already? There was no way I had slept for 4 hours. Ok, I had to look good and someone you would want to hire, even though they had barely moved here. I picked a dress and heels. Maybe it was too dressy? Next thing I chose was a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and some sneakers. It was too casual. My last resort was to go naked. And I wasn't going to go naked. I just picked the dress and got dressed. I straightened my hair and walked out the door.
"You must be Roxanna"
"The one and only" I was shaking. Literally shaking.
"So I have a few questions for you Roxanna. Are you willing to answer them"
"Of course" I responded.
She asked me a ton of questions. Like where I had lived before, and if I had experience. And strangely enough, if I was in a relationship. Of course I said no.
"Great. We will contact you in 3-5 business days to tell you if you got the job"
"Thank you"
That was horrible. Completely horrible. I was the most nervous person on Earth. I was probably sweating. I walked up the stairs just to find Adym waiting there.
"What're you here?"
"Waiting for you" he was amazingly cute.
"You told me you would come at 5"
"I wanted to surprise you"
"You're dumb"
"Just get in the car"
"I will get in the car when I want to"
"Suit yourself"
He walked down the stairs.
"Ok, wait!"
I got into his car. It felt weird. I had just met him and I'm already getting into his car? Whatever, we were just hanging out, right?
We pulled up to his house. I have to admit it was nice. He opened the door for me and I walked inside.
"So, what do you want to do?"
I thought for a quick second.
"Do you have a like a PlayStation or Xbox?"
"Duh"
"I just needed a yes or no, Adym"
We played for a bit and then thing really got out of hand.
"VICTORY ROYALE!! IN YOUR FACE ADYM!"
"Ok ok, you've proven you're better than me"
We stared at each other for a while. Until we started to make out. It was an instinct, ok? He went in for a kiss and I didn't know what to do, so I just went with it. I knew it was wrong. But, a tiny part inside of felt it was right.
He started to unzip my dress when I stopped him. I was not going to lose my virginity to someone I just met.
"Woah, take it down 5 notches, Adym"
"I'm sorry, I got carried away"
"I can see that"
He was so hot. I know it sounds weird. It even sound weird to me. But, I decided it was definitely time to leave.
