The Emperor Constantine was the first pagan emperor at this period when paganism was at its heightened awareness. He was said to have been converted into Catholicism by following Saint Peter after the crucifixion of Christ. Until then, everyone wasn't interested in viewing this religion that had just come to pass, known as Christianity. But according to historians, Constantine's mother Helen, was the presence that embarked him to go on this pilgrimage to the Rome with her and tour the Holy Land. Her journey was attended by she and her son, with the almsgiving of the pious works of distinguished people who were in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Constantine's mother was the initiative that helped him with his interpretation of the Book of Genesis and he wanted it shared with everyone he met.Historically they believed Christ, first showed himself in this his human form, by a spirit formed by God's presence to Abraham. Constantine was then to discover the Holy Sepulcher that Abraham held, during the time when this happening occurred. This discovery was taken up by Constantine with enthusiasm who then instigated the building of Saint Peter 's basilica on the spot where Christ's crucifixion was thought to have taken place.
Because of this, it led to his conversion and becoming the pagan to convert to Catholicism. first of Constantine received his purification he had been hoping for and was baptized in the Jordan River died in 337 A.D. Afterward he was buried on site where Saint Peter's and his six Apostles were placed. Each on each corner of the burial ground where he lay.
Because of this, Constantine's baptism began the quest to find all they could about the crucified Christ and his place on earth. Thus, the first crusaders marched across Europe with a huge army, and this was the beginning of The Holy Wars. holy wars were started.
Thence the crusaders marched through the land's of the French and onward they went to Britain, claiming all the lands of these areas for the Roman Empire. Because of these wars, two young royals found each other. The two children had been been brought up during this campaign of the Catholic Church, and found each other in the middle of a battle, between their two families who were the royal empires of France and of Britain.
