AN: So this is the second to last chapter of this adventure. I am so happy that I have gotten this far. Imagine if I just left you all on a cliffhanger on the ending of the story, lmao! I might get a pissed message or two. I won't do that. But I am surprised in myself on this. So...this won't be fun. It is sad and a bit painful.

P.S. If you see hot sauce anywhere in the text, that was my placement holder, lol.

Everything felt the same and yet not really at the same time. It was the day after Mitch's memories came back. It was like he had never left in a way. Like his current self had watched things from afar where he couldn't interject. Except he felt different inside. He wasn't the same Mitch from three weeks ago....

"Mitch, are you zoning out again? You've been doing that a lot since yesterday. Are you sure you're okay," Scott asked Mitch from behind as they walked into the living room after breakfast.

"Huh? Sorry Scotty. What did you say," Mitch responded as he turned back to look at the concerned blond.

Scott sighed. "I asked if you're okay. You keep zoning out."

Mitch rolled his eyes and gave the blond a fond smile. "Yes. I am fine. Just adjusting to everything. What I want to know is if you are okay? You didn't ask a lot of questions yesterday. You were kind of...subdued."

He walked over and grabbed Scott's hands in his own and looked up at him imploringly. Scott smiled down at him, his eyes gentle and unguarded. "I guess I am adjusting, too. I am so happy you are back. You at any age is my best friend, but teenage you is pretty stubborn and possibly more petty than current you," Scott joked.

"Hey! I wasn't that bad! You didn't want me to interact with anyone on my own. Sometimes I have to give you a little push to get you to agree."

Scott laughed. "I thought that was my job. I was really worried there that you wouldn't return to me," he said in that soft voice only meant for Mitch. He caressed Mitch's left cheek with his knuckles. Mitch's eyes fluttered close, cherishing the feel of the large knuckles and the slightly rough hand against his skin. He missed this.

He opened his eyes to look back at Scott. "So did I. I kept feeling like an imposter. That I wasn't meant to be here. That it was someone else's life." He was now holding Scott's hand, that had been on his face, in both of his hands.

Scott's eyes shown pain and sorrow. They were this strange dark blue like an almost faded night sky. "You could never be an imposter. No matter what age you are, you will always be Mitch....my Mitch. Do you understand me? Nothing could change that."

Mitch's eyes watered at the conviction in Scott's voice. "Yes. You never thought less of me. Neither did Austin. You believed I could do the songs. That I could perform. That I was Mitch. Just Mitch."

That stupid beautiful smile came out. "That's right. And now you are back to before. All is right," Scott said with satisfaction as he wrapped his arms around Mitch's waist. Smooth bastard! Mitch looked away. He couldn't agree with Scott.

"Not yet."

"What are you talking about, Mitchy," Scott asked, his hands losing their tight grip on him, only loosely holding his hips.

Mitch faced the man he was unfortunately in love with. "All isn't right. You remember when I told you about the flashback yesterday?"

"Of course I do. I'm not getting it. What am I missing?" Mitch sighed. He hated these kind of talks. They were so hard. "M-Mitch....are you going to continue dating him?" Mitch wanted to cry at how broken Scott's voice sounded. His face was so crushed. He was thinking that Austin was right. That Mitch was rejecting him again. He could actually feel the vomit sneaking up into his mouth.
