AN: This is an idea that I have been passionate about for a really long time. I finally decided to write it. You will actually be guaranteed updates on this one, lol. I also want to thank my rock, @allofmeuncharted for being there throughout this trying time.

"So....I guess you might not have to worry about college after all," Mike joked to his eighteen year old son as they cleaned up from dinner. Mitch managed a smile. After trying to find every way possible, Mitch and his parents realized he couldn't afford school. Everywhere he wanted to go was expensive. Even with scholarships, he still couldn't afford it. And he had even gotten in at USC. Where Scott was..... "Now Mitch, I want to be sure, you want to do this. It's a bit....different," Mike said. He had gathered all the leftovers and was putting it all in Tupperware. Mitch had gotten the dishes and utensils. He was washing them.

Mitch stared down at the plate in his hand. He had never been in front of an audience like that or filmed in such a way. "I....I'm sure. This could be it, Dad. Scott is sure of it." He could feel the short man staring at him.

"Mitch....Don't put all your faith in him, okay? I want you to do this for yourself. Not because Scott sweet talked you." Mitch's face heated up immediately at the insinuation.

"Dad," he shouted as the cup he was washing slipped into the soapy water. He saw Mike give him a look from the corner of his eye. The blush intensified. Mike shook his head at the teen.

"It's not like I don't know. Gives you those baby blue eyes and a pout and calls you 'Mitchy' and you are a goner." Mitch felt like his face would never go back to normal. But he should have expected it. Mike had found out that he and Scott had been together the year before. All because he left his laptop laying out and there was an unfinished message to Scott up on the screen. And now his dad was using that knowledge against him.

When he had told his parents that he was applying for USC, Mike had asked him if he was only applying there because that was where Scott was. Mitch had denied it. USC had one of the best schools of music in the world. Thornton was world renowned. And their new popular music major was exactly the right fit for him. Scott being there was just a bonus.

Scott was his best friend. Of course it would be ideal if he went to the same school as him. It wasn't like he was chasing after him. He had resolved himself to waiting. There was a right time for everything. And right now, it was the right time to go after his dreams. That came first before any romance.

"No. He didn't do that. He just.....told me how it was the perfect competition for us," Mitch said softly as he rubbed the sponge over the last dish. Mike was definitely looking at him again.

"Unless you have a thing for dishware, your face says otherwise." Mitch could feel that he had a faint blush on his face and his lips were sort of twitched into a smile. Scott was just a good talker. He could sell you a spaceship with how convincing he was, that's all. "I think the bowl's clean, son."

Mitch snapped out of it. He saw that the bowl in his hands was spotless and his fingers were starting to prune. He hurriedly got the soap off of it and put in the drying rack with everything else. "I'm fine. This is what I want. I wasn't guilt tripped into it or anything," he replied as he dried off his hands. He was going to need to moisturize his hands before bed.

The eyebrow lift in response indicated Mike thought different. "Really? You'd jump off a bridge if Scott told you," Mike countered.

The taller Italian rolled his eyes at the hyperbole. "No I wouldn't."
