It has been a while since Nadia has gotten back from dropping Roman off. When I finally heard her barge through the door and say,

"He is totally into you!"

"What?!" I say pausing my Netflix.

"Look, Presley. I've known Roman since the beginning of college and I know what he does when he is into a girl."

"Okay, and?" I ask wanting her to get to the point.

"And, he is definitely showing signs that he likes you!"

At first I was ecstatic, then I remembered those green eyes and my face fell.

"No, he is not, Nadia." I huffed getting up off the couch.

"Okay, whatever. But I know Roman and he doesn't just shofer every girl around." I huff once more and turn off the tv.

"I'm going to take a nap." I head to my room.

"Wouldn't you rather go bowling?" Nadia questioned. I peak my head out of my doorway to look at her and restate,

"Bowling?"

"Yeah, Chance and I thought it would be fun to invite some friends to go bowling today. You know, brighten this cold Monday up."

I actually considered it for a second because this Monday sure could use some cheering up. Then I remembered the last time Nadia and I hung out with her friends. I got left alone on a hard couch, bored out of my mind.

"No, thanks. The last time we hung out with a group of your friends you left me." I say walking back into my room but Nadia followed me.

"I'm sorry about that. This is just going to be a small group. I knew you wouldn't go if it was too big so I asked Chance to invite a maximum of three friends.

"Who did you invite?" I ask wondering who I would be hanging out with if I went.

"Just you."

"Just me?" I question surprised.

"Yup, you're the only real friend I have." I was touched and saddened at the same time. All her bunches of friends weren't really friends.

"So, you coming or what?" Nadia walked out of my room.

"Well if it is just a small outing then, I guess." I think.

"Nadia," I shout after her, "I'll go."

"Okay, great! We booked a lane for 2:00." Her eyes were sparkling with excitement.

"2:00! I have to get ready." She giggled at my comment as I ran to my room to get changed. I could have worn the same thing I was wearing but I felt I needed to wear something more appropriate for the occasion.

I threw on a pair of ripped, light blue, skinny jeans with a white, Adidas shirt, tucked in, and my black converse. Then I went to the bathroom and touched up my makeup and threw my straight, dark blonde hair up into a high pony tail.

"Presley, you ready?" Nadia called from the kitchen.

"Almost!" I shout back. Walking into my room, I grab my phone and shove it into my jean pocket. I then walk back out of my room and grab my coat.

"Alright, let's go. Chance says he's outside." Nadia said all bundled up.

We have been bowling for quite sometime now and none of Chance's "three" friends have arrived yet.

"They should be here by now." Chance spoke as I rolled the ball down the lane and knocked down seven pins. As soon as I picked up another ball to bowl I smelled something.
