(M/N)'s POV
It's been 600 years since that day and I now believe in my meaning. Well, I think it's been that long. Time passes too quickly. I don't even keep track of it anymore. I'm (M/N) Hallow for some know me as Halloween. I give the children courage when they're in a state of fear. To show them it's not scary but something else they don't see. I like to even give courage to kids to stand up for themselves, give bravery to confess faults, and make the dark not feared but enjoyed.
Tonight was my night, it was October 31st. It was Halloween. I just walk amongst the others not too worried about my wings anymore for I look as if I'm dressed up as the others. My hair is a longer length then a usual guy and is a nice (H/C) shade. My clothes changed over the years and now I wear a (F/C) scarf, a black long sleeve sweater, dark jeans, and brown boots. A nice casual look but somehow the kids that believe in me always seems to point me out.
I was told by parents as the Halloween man. I was a fallen "angel" that taught courage to young people. The one to help those who are cowardly and give them confidence. The usual tale of how it goes was a small boy gets lost in the woods. He was so frightened he hid in a hollow tree. That was until a man went up to him and asked why he was crying. The little boy told him he was scared from the dark and he can't find his home. The man smiled gently and told the boy he'll guide him home.
Along the way he showed how beautiful the night can be with the darkness. Showing the fireflies hidden in bushes and how they twinkled happily. The small woodland animals sleeping til dawn. How really the dark is to give comfort to those in the embrace to sleep peacefully. After he reached his home he turned to thank the nice man but he was gone. His front door opens with his parents running toward him. The young boy ran to his parents and told them everything. They look at each other only to look up into the sky and see a figure flying away in the dark star lit night.
I am now seen and believed in. I usually walk with the children house to house where they get candy. I didn't think much of the candy thing for I ironically had a sweet tooth. The ones that believed in me called me Hallow. They even ask me to fly them in the sky to see the best direction for lit houses where they can get candy.
"Hallow can I touch you wings? " a tiny blond girl with a fairy outfit tugged at my scarf. I smile and extend my right wing.
"Go for it but only if I can see a smile from that cute face." She instantly smiles and runs her fingers through the dark feathers.
"So soft." The other kids start to pet my wing.
"Okay guys this ain't no petting zoo. Let me take you guys home. Or sandman won't be happy." I pull back my wing and get a bunch of boos.
"No! One more house! One more house!" They all start to chant. I lift up my hands and fireflies start to appear.
"Okay. Okay. I'll lead you guys to one more house but only if you all promise to not show fear for this house isn't like the rest. Not only that! You then get a firefly to guide you home." They all grow silent but then nod from determination. I smile and lead them to the house where I know there's a lot of candy. The house was worn out and old but it was owned by a kind old lady. The kids start to get scared but I reassure them.
"It's scary looking Hallow." A girl in a zombie outfit says.
"No scratch that! It's terrifying!" A boy spoke dressed as a vampire just like his twin brother.
"Ehhh." A young boy with glasses shakes. His a mummy but seems to have second thoughts on his choice of costume.
"Come on. The house is just worn and you can't be scared by looks. " I suggest.
"Yeah. Come on guys remember how we met Cupcake." A young boy dressed as big foot tells the others. I raise my eyebrow but ignore it.
I smirk and wave my hand as a dried up leaf appears in my palm. Crashing it up I then blow it towards them. The crashed up pieces turn to golden glittering specks. This causes them to stand straight and cheer. They run up to the house and ring the door bell. I smile to myself and start walking away leaving a jar of fireflies in my spot. One for each of them. Just to guide them home.
I start my journey home and then I see golden sand trail drift through the night. I extend my wings and fly up toward the source. The great sandman himself. He sees me fly toward him and I then am greeted but only a glare waiting for me.
"Hey Sandy... I know some are still hyped up but they'll fall asleep soon." I flap my wings so I can stay in place. He just sighs with no sound and shakes his head. He gives me a sand image on top of his head of a clock.
"Uh my guess 1 am possibly 3 am. They are kids after all. Don't let me mention all that candy. They'll just pass out soon enough." I chuckle. He then face palms.
"Okay I'm going to my house see ya Sandy." I wave and fly away. I finally reach my home. It was in the opening the man in the moon raised me from.
"I'm home." I spoke and not expecting a reply but I did.
"Welcome home (M/N). Or should I say Hallow." A dark nasty chuckle echoed. I know that can only be... The Boogeyman himself.
"Pitch." I growl.
