Chapter 8

Maria pov
I woke up in my trailer.
"Where am I?" I asked. "How did I get here?"
I jumped off the bed and landed on Dick.
"Hey be careful, you're back still not healed." He groaned.
"What happened?" I said.
"I was going to ask you the same thing." Dick said as he held me.
"Aurora tricked me, I though she was apologizing for her actions and destroying our family. Then she drove a knife into my back." I said. Dick hugged me.
"I thought I had lost you again." Dick Whispered in my ear as he held me.
"You can't get rid of me that easily," I whispered then kissed him. He kissed me back. I ran my fingeres through his hair.
"I love you." I said as he started kissing Down my jaw line.
"These walls are thin," I whispered.
Dick stopped and looked at me.
"They're probably already up." I said.
I rolled off Dick then he picked me up and carried me to the kitchen. Justice and Wally were at the breakfast table eating cereal.
"Hey babies." I Said.
Dick set me down at the table and I leaned over to kiss them. I heard Sage crying so Dick went and got her.
"Hey sweetie." I heard him say to her.
"Hey sweetie," I said as he brought her to me. She giggled as I kissed her.
"Mommy Daddy's back." Wally said.
"You know buddy I can only stay till Mommy's walking again." Dick Said. Wally pouted.

The next morning Dick had his arms wrapped around me. I rolled over to face him.
"Good morning." He said as He kissed me.
"Good morning," I said. I heard the door to my trailer open,
"if they come in, hide under the covers." I signed in ASL.

Dick nodded. He laid on his back and I rolled over to face the door. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep. The door opened and I heard multiple people come in.

"Maria!" M'gann said as she shook me awake.
I opened my eyes and propped myself up. I saw, M'gann, Connor, Kaldur, Artemis and Wally in my room.
"What do you all want?" I asked as I stretched.
I heard Sage crying in the other room. Dick sat up.
"I'll get her." He kissed my cheek.
"What?" Wally exclaimed as they all descended into chaos.
Dick picked me up and carried me to the kitchen then got Sage as our friends asked a hundred questions.
"Mama?" Wally asked as he slugged into the kitchen.
"Hey sweetie," I helped him into my lap as Dick came out with Sage.
"Alright listen, I had to fake my death. My identity was out, my family was at risk. And Batman wanted me to be a spy for an organization trying to uncover superheroes real identities.  So I'm sorry." Dick Said as Wally disappeared from my arms.
"Hey lil' Wally." Wally said to my son.
My son laughed and hugged Wally.
"You weren't expecting to see me this morning were you?" Wally asked him.
"No," Wally giggled.
Justice came out looking grumpy.
"Hey why the grumpy face?" I asked.
He grumbled and went over and made cereal for himself.
"He reminds me of Damien." Dick laughed.
"Do they only eat cereal?" Dick asked.
"Pretty much. I don't have the kitchen space to make French toast and other foods I made at the manor." I said.
"Oh your French toast is amazing." Wally said.
"I thought you loved my French toast?" Artemis said.
Dick put Sage in her highchair and got her breakfast.

"Come on Wally, come eat your breakfast."  I Said.Wally sat my son at the table and Dick got him breakfast. I looked and Justice was sitting on the counter.
"Justice get down, sit at the table." I said.

"Well now that they're all eating. What is the meaning of this visit?" I asked as Dick started brewing coffee.
"We heard you'd just finished a mission with the Suicide Squad and you were injured. We wanted to make sure you were alright." Artemis said.
She came over and sat with me. Wally was sitting with my children helping feed Sage.
"I'm alright, I may have been stabbed in the back but at least I got my magic back after one of my sisters threw me out of the window at the top of Taipei 101." I said.
"What!" M'gann exclaimed.
"Why do you think I'm not walking?" I asked.
"I thought Dick was just being a nice husband and carrying you." M'gann said.
"How did you hurt your back?" Connor asked.
"I was literally stabbed in the back by my sister. But then again I had killed our other one and shot her with an arrow. I thought she was apologizing for everything she and our other sister had done, but instead, she stabbed me in the back and cut my spinal cord. I was then rushed to an ARGUS hospital where I had surgery." I said.
"I had to call Oliver to get the same device Overwatch has in her back and Spartan has in his hand. Mr. Terrific said it takes a few weeks to activate. I want to stick around till she's back on her feet. But I have to leave soon." Dick said.
"At least, you're alive." Kaldur Smiled.
"How long have you know he was alive?" Connor asked.
"Since the last time we were in Gotham," Justice said.
"Not with the circus. The circus wasn't even on the same continent." I said.
"So since Justice's first mission." Artemis said.
"Yep," Justice said.
"Yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me." Sinbad sang as he opened the door.
"Oh didn't know you had guests." Sinbad said.
"It's fine," I said.
"Can I still steal the boys for clown classes?" Sinbad asked.
"Go ahead, Sinbad." I said.
"Wait his name is Sinbad?" Wally asked.
"Yes," I said as I ate.
"Like Sinbad the Pirate?"
"No Sinbad the Clown," Sinbad said.
"He's an ARGUS agent." I said.
"Sssh, don't tell my secrets to the public," Sinbad said as he closed the door.
"You do know they're League members?" Dick Said.
"Come on, Justice and Wally." Sinbad said.

Justice put his dishes in the sink and Lil' Wally ran to Sinbad.
"I'm Flash fast." He said as Sinbad picked him up as We all Laughed.
"Yes you are buddy," Sinbad said.
He and Justice left for their lessons. When Wally calmed himself, he said,
"I love that kid." Dick looked at his watch and frowned. "I'm sorry but I have to go. My time is up and I've got to get back to my mission." Dick came over and kissed me. "Can't you stay a little longer." I asked. "I'm sorry but I can't be emotionally attached to anyone or anything that will interfere with my mission." Dick said sympathetically. "So no more contact?" I asked. He nodded then turned my head up to his. "I love you, Maria. I hope you get better soon." He Smiled as he kissed me. "I love you too, Dick. Be safe." I Said. "I will, and I'd prefer if our sons were acrobats and not clowns." He Smiled. "I'll talk with Sinbad." I Smiled. Dick kissed Sage and said goodbye to our friends then he left.

Justice and Wally came in followed by Haly.
"Momma, Sinbad showed me how to throw knives." Justice exclaimed.
"Awesome, not arrows but we're getting somewhere." I said as I high fived him.
Lil' Wally ran over to Wally and climbed into his lap.
"thanks for watching them." I said.
"Not a problem." Haly said.
"Wait I know you three." He said as he pointed to Connor, M'gann and Artemis.
"Ya we were part of the Daring Dangers act." Connor Said. "Dan Danger, Dawn Danger, Diane Danger, Dane Danger, and  Dean Danger." Haly said.
"You never forget a single act do you?" I asked. "No, I don't." Haly said. "I've known your husband since he was born. His parents were the best trapeesest I've ever seen. It was like they were flying. Dick gave you all away the first time I saw your routine." Haly said.
"How?" M'gann asked.
"You never forget the sight of a Grayson on the trapees." Haly said his eyes a bit glossy as if he was remembering a memory from long ago.
"I knew you kids weren't who you all said you were."Haly Said breaking away from the memory
"Way to go Dick, you blew out cover." Artemis Said even though he wasn't here. I laughed as I put Sage down.

She toddled over to some of her toys and grabbed a book. She toddled back over and held it out to Connor. Connor picked her up and held her in his lap.
"Remember we're pulling out of here as soon as the show's done and we've unpacked." Haly said. "I got it," I said as he left.
"So We've got news that we wanna tell you all." Artemis smiled.
"Can we guess?" I asked.
"No because there's people in here that probably already know." Artemis Said.
"Like who?" Justice Asked as he grabbed the trapeze bar and hung upside down.
"M'gann can read minds." Artemis said.
"You forgot about me, I can hear heart beats." Connor smiled.
"Well anyways, I'm pregnant." Artemis said. I leaned over and hugged her.
"I'm so happy for you two. How far along are you?" I asked as I put my hand on Arty's stomach. "Eight weeks. We found out a few days ago." She Said. M'gann then hugged her. "So were all going to have children, now." M'gann Said. Kaldur Smiled at all of us.
"So am I going to end up being baby sitter on date night now?" Kaldur Asked. I laughed.
"If you want you could stay and help me, seeing as I won't be able to walk for a while." I Said.
"Sure, I'll stay." He Smiled.

We kept chatting and eventually everyone left so we could pack up to leave for the next city.
