Chapter Sixteen: The Next Fight

I sprang up from my crouched position, grabbing the bar above me. I reached up and grabbed the shining, blue flag. I flipped off the bar, tossing the flag in midair to Alec. He caught it. Then he set it next to the other two flags we already collected. 

I landed on the ground next to Alec. I turned to him and smiled. He smiled back. 

I heard clapping behind me. I turned and saw the other members of the Team. 

"Impressive my friends," said Aqualad.

The rest of them nodded. 

Robin stated, "Two and a half minutes. Fastest time yet. How are you guys so good?"

Alec let out a dry laugh, "Learned from the best."

I shot a glare at Alec, unknown to the Team.

"Who was it," asked Artemis. 

I also gave a small laugh, "Her nam-"  

"Team report to the debriefing room," came Batman's voice over the comms.

In the meeting room, there were five leaguers. They were Black Canary, Batman, Superman, Green Arrow, and Flash. 

To say I was nervous was an understatement. Alec must have noticed this. 

"It'll be fine Liv," he gently whispered.

I knew he meant well but still. I was talking about a potentially, extremely dangerous weapon. 

Batman cleared his throat. The room got silent.

"Scarlet, what do you know about the gun?"

"Sh**," I muttered to Alec before I started.

"Well...um...The people who had the guns in the first place wer-." 

I glanced over at Alec who was laughing quietly. Yet this said laughter was very annoying. When he saw I stopped explaining he stopped laughing.

"The people who had the guns we not the sellers. They were the buyers. The seller was none other tha-."

Alec continued to laugh."

"What is so funny Ace?"

"This whole situation! Think about it. We were hacking thieves, thieving hackers, a few said that, just months ago. Now we're here! Explaining Black Mask's killer tech guns!"

"Black Mask," Black Canary questioned. 

I facepalmed, "Yup. Black Mask is making the guns."

"And we've recently been there," added Alec.

"We have to stop him. We'll get his location and put an end to his guns. Does everyone understand," Batman asked.

Everyone nodded.

Alec and I walked out of the meeting room together. We walked down the hall. Suddenly out inhibitor bracelets popped off. I glanced over at Alec, who was as confused as I was. I looked behind us and saw Black Canary smiling. Then she walked away.

Now Black Mask. I gripped Alec's hand tight as he pulled me into a tight hug. If only we knew what would hit us so, so hard next.
